29th June 2021. 8½f Stay at Hampton by Hilton Almada mile handicap (Class 2) 3.50 Hamilton Park

·

STUNNING BEAUTY (103) Her last run at Royal Ascot can be ignored as she lost her chance at the start. Won an 8f handicap on good to firm in her previous race. Had been disappointing in Meydan before that folding tamely on 2 occasions.

CHICHESTER (103) Won over a mile on good to firm ground 6 days ago at Carlisle. That race was run at a particularly strong pace and the form looks solid. Should go well under a 5lb penalty if he’s recovered.

JUMP THE GUN (103) His win here 13 days ago was his best performance so far, making up ground off of a slow pace. He doesn’t win that often, but given the strong market support that day and his liking for this course, he has to be on the shortlist. Seems to go on all ground. NON RUNNER.

HORTZADAR (105) His last run in the Royal Hunt Cup can be discounted as he had no chance from a bad position. Best run this season was his 3rd in The Lincoln at Doncaster. A repeat of that form would see him in the mix here

HEADINGLEY (104) Won a novice stakes at Redcar in April  and ran his best race so far when 3/6 at Doncaster on firm ground. Wears first time blinkers here. Gets the 3yo’s allowance of 10lb.

AMAYSMONT (103) Was a decent 2nd at Musselburgh over 9f on soft ground last time. Stable in good form so has to be considered.

FRED (102) Last run can be forgiven as he was held up in midfield and pulled hard. He was much better before that at Leicester where he raced prominently and finished a decent 2nd over 7f on good to firm going. He stays a mile.

POETS DAWN (103) Back to form the last day when 2nd at Haydock over a mile on good to firm. Likes to bowl along.

HOWZER BLACK (103) Below form latest at Carlisle behind Chichester. Better judged on his second at York over 10f. Seems to act on any ground.

JUST HISS (102) Good second at Redcar over 10f good to firm penultimate start. Not disgraced last time at Beverley, again over 10f.
