SOLE PRETENDER (162) 5th of 14 in a grade 1 hurdle 24f Punchestown, good to soft 63 days ago. Looked like a non stayer that day. Stays 20f acts on good to soft. Conditions should suit him here, if he’s allowed a soft lead he could be hard to pass. (1st 5/4)

DARRASO (159) 1st of 9 in a novice chase 19f Listowel, good 24 days ago. Back over hurdles here. Stays 21f acts on heavy. In  fantastic form at the moment. Trip here looks a bit short for him, but with question marks about so many here he has to be on the shortlist. (2nd 10/3)

BAND OF OUTLAWS (158?) 3rd of 15 in an 8f handicap at Naas 46 days ago, heavy. Shaped well that day after a 654 day absence. A smart hurdler back in the day. Good to see him racing again. Another for the shortlist, though the main target could be at Galway.

WINTER ESCAPE (155?) 1st of 8 17f handicap chase Listowel 278 days ago, soft. Stays 20f acts on soft. Probable target is the Galway Plate, likely to come on for the run here.

HEARTS ARE TRUMPS (154) 1st of 20 in a 16f hurdle Fairyhouse good to soft 89 days ago. Acts on heavy ground. The Galway hurdle is the main target, an eachway chance here.

MAGIC TRICKS (153) 10th of 24 in a 16f handicap hurdle at Punchestown 65 days ago, good to soft. Acts on heavy ground. Has plenty to prove here.

A WAVE OF THE SEA (147?) Seems to have lost his way at the moment, unlikely to get a confidence boost here.
