Jockey Oisin Murphy returned to horse racing with a successful ride on Jupiter Express at Chelmsford yesterday, winning the 6f handicap on the 15-8 favourite. This was his first ride after serving a 14-month ban for alcohol and Covid-related rule violations. Murphy, a three-time champion jockey, had a strong position throughout the race and secured an easy win with the Mick Appleby-trained horse. Murphy expressed his joy at being back on the racecourse, and despite the long break, he felt quite fit and enjoyed the experience, including the banter in the weighing room. He acknowledged that he needed to maintain his racing focus to regain his sharpness quickly
