Tom Scudamore, who has had a 25-year career as a jockey, announced his retirement on Friday, effective immediately. Despite being scheduled to ride four horses on Saturday, the 40-year-old made the decision to retire after being thrown from Ya Know Yaseff, a horse trained by his longtime associate David Pipe, during a race at Leicester on Thursday.
