INTRICACY (Hasn’t raced since, but could be smart) had to be chased along with 3f to go but he responded. It was slightly disconcerting to see him once again hang left when he hit the front, but on this occasion he was able to comfortably hold his rivals at bay.

Roaring Legend, who cost 110,000euros as a yearling, is a half-brother to three winners. He shaped well on his debut, staying on to be second, and he’s sure to be suited by a stiffer test in due course.

Imperial Ace (A winner twice since with an RPR of 92) cost 125,000gns and is a brother to a 1m2f AW winner and half-brother to six other winners including Italian Group 1 winner Dylan Mouth. He got away well but was restrained towards the back, then switched out leaving the back straight to try and make headway out wide on the home bend. He got a bit outpaced but then rallied in the closing stages, while showing his greenness by swerving left when hit with the whip. He looks a likely improver.

I’m Too Tired lacked the pace to challenge but was keeping on at the finish. He’ll be one for handicaps after another start.

First Sight, (A winner twice since with an RPR of 92) a 425,000gns half-brother to two winners, was a bit keen early on and couldn’t pick up in the straight, although having the long-time leader weakening into his path probably accentuated the beaten distance.

Lancillotto, sent to the front from the widest draw, weakened after leading them into the straight. On paper this was a step up on his previous efforts, although he was better than the beaten distance at Nottingham last time.
