  1. Alafdhal (IRE): Profile: A C&D winner with five wins from 19 runs last year, Alafdhal disappointed last time out at Chelmsford City. However, he has had a successful winter on the AW, and a bounce back is not out of the question.
  2. Mellys Flyer: Profile: Mellys Flyer finished a creditable third in his last race at Kempton and is lurking on a handy mark. With a top apprentice taking off a useful 3lb, he’s a contender in this race.
  3. Newyorkstateofmind: Profile: A C&D winner with his latest victory here in September, Newyorkstateofmind hasn’t raced for 178 days. Now with a new yard, the betting could be a useful guide for his performance.
  4. Shades Of Summer (IRE): Profile: A low-mileage filly with two wins last term, Shades Of Summer ran respectably in her latest race at Chelmsford. She remains one to watch at this mark.
  5. Asadjumeirah: Profile: Asadjumeirah has had thirteen runs since his last win in 2022. Finishing eighth in his latest race at Newcastle, a visor will be applied for the first time.
  6. Watermelon Sugar (IRE): Profile: A C&D winner with four wins from seven runs last year, Watermelon Sugar shaped much better than the distance beaten suggests in his latest race at Lingfield. With a handy draw, he could be a contender from this mark.
  7. Secret Handsheikh: Profile: A C&D winner, Secret Handsheikh finished sixth in his last race at Nottingham. He may benefit from this first start after a five-month break.
  8. Level Up (IRE): Profile: A course winner, Level Up had a disappointing run at Southwell recently. The visor will be re-employed here, but he has a wide draw to overcome and both victories have been at 5f.
  9. Bang On The Bell: Profile: A C&D winner with three wins from 16 runs last year, Bang On The Bell finished a respectable third in his last race at this course. However, other contenders seem more persuasive.
  10. Murbih (IRE): Profile: A course winner with his latest victory at Southwell in January, Murbih was below form in his last race at Southwell.

Watermelon Sugar and Shades of Summer are worth watching closely, with Mellys Flyer and Alafdhal having the potential to bounce back. Newyorkstateofmind’s performance under a new yard will be interesting to follow, and the betting could provide valuable insight.
