- Katate Dori (FR) – He has shown strong form in his previous races, finishing fourth on his Cheltenham debut and just being beaten near the finish line when second at Warwick. With a solid performance so far, he sets the standard on form and has a strong chance in this race.
- The Kalooki Kid – This €40,000 Gentlewave gelding showed promise when finishing second at Ayr. Although it’s concerning that he hasn’t raced since then, he could still have a significant impact on the race if he runs to his potential. His previous performance puts him in a good position for at least an each-way claim.
- Ballywhatsit (IRE) – As a newcomer, Ballywhatsit’s potential is not as clear, but his pedigree is promising. He is a brother to bumper/hurdle winner Imperial Merlin and half-brother to two other hurdle winners. Considering his €65,000 price tag and the fact that his trainer has a fair record in these races, Ballywhatsit is an interesting contender in this race. The market response will be important in gauging his chances.
Overall, Katate Dori seems to have the best form coming into the race, but The Kalooki Kid and Ballywhatsit shouldn’t be overlooked, as they both have potential to perform well.
