  1. Hurricane Kiko (IRE) – This horse has shown steady improvement throughout its previous races, culminating in a win at Chelmsford. If Hurricane Kiko can continue this progress on reappearance, it has a strong chance of being in the top 3.
  2. Burnish – Although Burnish’s most recent performance at Southwell was disappointing, it has shown potential, and with the addition of first-time cheekpieces, there’s a good chance it could bounce back. The horse is in excellent hands, and if it takes well to the headgear, it could be a strong contender.
  3. Dutch Kingdom (IRE) – Dutch Kingdom has shown consistent form in its previous races and is open to progress now entering handicapping. If it takes well to the added blinkers, it could be a major player in this race.

  1. Naaser (IRE) – A promising sort with a recent win at Lingfield, Naaser seems to be on an upward trajectory and has the potential to improve even further. With a strong showing in his C&D debut, he is one to watch in this race.
  2. Starlight Nation (IRE) – Starlight Nation has shown promise in his C&D races, making the frame both times. With only a neck behind Naaser in their last meeting and now receiving a 7lb pull, he has a strong chance of giving Naaser a run for his money.
  3. Surrey Noir (FR) – As a €44,000 yearling, Surrey Noir has a solid pedigree, and with James Doyle booked, he is one to consider in this race. His half-brothers have had success on the track, so it’s possible that he will follow suit. Keep an eye on the market for further guidance.

  1. McCauley’s Tavern (IRE): This gelding has a strong record, with a good second-place finish in a maiden at the Curragh, and is making his polytrack debut. Having moved to a new yard, there could be improvement to come, and he has leading claims based on his past performances.
  2. Alpha Zulu: A promising colt who finished a close second in a minor event at Newcastle on debut. With the addition of a tongue strap and room for improvement, he is definitely one to watch in this race.
  3. Peony: Despite a disappointing run last time, she showed promise in her debut at Salisbury. The drop in trip may benefit her and, if she can settle better, she could be a leading player in this race.

  1. Golden Passport: This promising colt has shown consistent novice form and is open to further progress. With a win at Wolverhampton and a solid performance at Newcastle, the drop back in trip might prove ideal for him. He is expected to be competitive on his return from a break and should be well-respected in this race.
  2. Restrict (USA): Demonstrating promise in sprint maidens, Restrict recently won a 6-runner maiden at Wolverhampton. He appears well-suited for this new trip on his handicap debut, and both pedigree and visual impression suggest further improvement is likely. He is a strong contender in this race.
  3. Little Edi: Responding well to first-time cheekpieces in his recent C&D handicap victory, Little Edi has shown potential on the AW surface. Still unexposed in this category and retaining the headgear, he could offer more in this race and warrants consideration as he moves up in grade.

19:30 Kempton Wed 29 Mar 7f Hcap

  1. Mount Athos – This improving colt has shown strong performance in his last C&D handicap, winning impressively. The runner-up has also boosted the form by scoring twice since. With a 12lb rise in his mark, Mount Athos is strongly respected and could prove to be Listed/Group class in due course.
  2. Vafortino – With a 2-5 record for his new stable last year and wins at Ascot and Goodwood, Vafortino has displayed a solid performance. His close second on his sole AW attempt suggests that he may have more to offer this term, making him a strong contender in this race.
  3. Dubai Station – Having regained the winning thread at Wolverhampton this month on his second start for his new stable, Dubai Station is still favorably treated. His previous AW wins and strong performance in a Group 3 race in 2020 make him a serious threat in this race.

20:00 Kempton Wed 29 Mar 2m Hcap

  1. Novel Legend (IRE) – This lightly raced 4-year-old has shown great promise in previous races and has the potential for further improvement. With a recent win at Chester and a good second at Newmarket, Novel Legend has leading claims in this race, especially considering the horse is making its polytrack debut.
  2. Blazeon Five – With a consistent record of finishing in the top 2 in all AW races since being upped to staying trips, Blazeon Five is a strong contender. The horse has proven to perform well over this C&D, finishing just ahead of First Emperor last time, and is expected to finish right up there once again.
  3. First Emperor – This ex-Irish horse has had two polytrack wins at Lingfield and Kempton, and has secured good places in all three starts since. Finishing just 1 length behind Blazeon Five in their last encounter, First Emperor looks to be a serious contender in this race.

20:30 Kempton Wed 29 Mar 6f Hcap

  1. Sir Rodneyredblood: Coming off a recent win at Chelmsford City and boasting 11 AW successes, Sir Rodneyredblood seems to be in good form. Although his last Kempton win was a while ago, his current form makes him a strong contender in this race.
  2. Mustaffiz: With a recent good effort finishing second to Sir Rodneyredblood at Chelmsford City, Mustaffiz seems to have found his suitable mark. He has a strong chance to compete, making him a solid choice for the top 3.
  3. Phoenix Star: As a 4-time C&D winner, Phoenix Star has a proven record at this course. Although his recent performances at Southwell and Newcastle have been mixed, his return to Kempton off a handy mark could lead to a better showing.
