- Mylesfromwicklow – Showed fairly useful form when runner-up in two previous starts over hurdles, and finished a close second in a soft ground race at Uttoxeter. Looks like a leading contender.
- El Rio – Looked promising on hurdling debut before falling at the last hurdle. A winner of a point-to-point race, and expected to improve.
- Spago – Showed promise in a soft ground bumper and made a satisfactory start to his hurdling career when finishing third at Taunton. Open to improvement and could be a danger to the top two.

- Gamaret – Lightly raced 7yo who created a good impression when winning on seasonal, chase and handicap debut at Newbury in December. Runner-up at Sandown last month but could have untapped potential over today’s longer trip.
- Allo Allo – Has won two hurdle races this season and ran well on chasing debut when second at Carlisle last month. Likely to progress with that run under his belt.
- Eaton Collina – Won over fences at Chepstow in February and subsequent 5lb rise does not look excessive. Today’s slower ground is probably in his favour and he should be right there again.

- Arclight – Has shown promise in his three hurdle starts and his flat form suggests he has plenty of potential. He was second in a Listed event at Doncaster and could still be well handicapped.
- Mr Freedom – Has won four times over hurdles this season and was a good fifth in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham last month despite being bumped repeatedly. His form suggests he is capable of running a big race in this competitive handicap.
- Fourofakind – Has shown promise in Ireland on the Flat and over hurdles, including a 12-length win at Haydock last time out. He is still on the upgrade and could be well-handicapped in this sphere.

- Frere D’Armes – Has shown impressive form in his chase career so far, winning his first two starts and coming from a stable with a good record in this race. He is well treated on his last winning mark and could still have more improvement to come.
- Corrigeen Rock – Won two races at the end of last year and has been consistently running well in good company this season. He could continue his progressive ways and be a strong contender.
- Fast Buck – Showed good form in his last three starts, including a win at Lingfield in December and a second place finish at Sandown. He has a versatile ground record and could produce another bold run.

- The Imposter – He has been in great form this season, winning five of his last six starts and finishing second in the other. He seems to be thriving and is expected to produce another big run despite the 5lb rise in the weights.
- Ailes D’amour – He got off the mark at Warwick in February and finished second at Sedgefield last time out. The cheekpieces are on, and he should appreciate the longer trip, so he is a good contender.
- Charging Point – He won last time out at Southwell and shapes like a stayer. Although he has more to do in this race, he has potential and could be a dark horse.

- Two For Gold – Based on last season’s form, including a career-best figure at this track, and the return of his usual cheekpieces, Two For Gold looks to have a good chance in this race.
- Larry – Has won twice over the Ascot fences and was back on form when second at Newbury last month. With his decent strike rate and good jumping, he should be in the mix.
- Wishing And Hoping – Despite being an outsider at Kelso last time out, his previous win in the veterans’ final at Sandown was impressive. If he can reproduce that form, he could be a contender.

- Certainly Red – He has won his last four completed starts over fences and is a two-time winner over hurdles. He is well treated off a mark 3lb lower than when winning at Wincanton last time and is interesting now back over hurdles.
- Top Of The Bill – He has won twice this season, including with first-time cheekpieces at Exeter. He is not straightforward, but he handles soft ground and is likely to give another good account.
- Rocky Man – He opened his hurdling account at the fourth attempt in a handicap at Wetherby and was even better when runner-up there next time. He was probably best excused his latest effort, where he seemed amiss. If bouncing back to form, he is a likely player.
