- Wildfell: Gelded over the winter and has won easily on Polytrack twice this spring. He is another 6lb higher as he chases a hat-trick, and his half-brother is a Tapeta winner. The handicapper may still be playing catch-up with him.
- All Dunn: Had three wins early in the year, including over course and distance, but now needs to prove this mark is within his range following two expensive defeats. He pulled hard last time, which is a potential negative.
- Ticket To Alaska: Half-brother to two Tapeta winners, he was the only one backed against Wildfell on his comeback but hung left at Kempton. He is 5lb better off and is at least entitled to close the gap.
- South Dakota Sioux: Had a string of defeats when among the favourites in recent times, often pulling hard, but got it together back in the hood on his first try at beyond sprint distances last Tuesday. He is only 4lb higher under penalty.

- Kath’s Toyboy: Has done most racing in sprints but showed this trip is fine for his in-form yard when winning over course and distance last month. Backed that up when coming right away with a subsequent winner off 3lb lower over 6f here last time and is high on the shortlist.
- King Of York: A maiden who had missed more than a year prior to his comeback in January. He offered more on turf last time over a stiff 8.5f, and the question now is whether he will still have the speed for 7f.
- Drakeholes: Achieved little when winning a weak Newcastle novice late last year and has struggled back into handicaps since. However, he offered more over course and distance last time, despite blowing the start and hitting traffic.
- Saisons D’Or: A buzzy front-runner who has always tended to come to hand early and did so again this spring, winning second time out over course and distance off 3lb lower. He couldn’t get to the front here last time and may face competition again.
