Analysis of the 4.30 Ayr:

Rankings based on Total Ratings:

  1. Be Proud (IRE) – 301.1
  2. Modular Magic – 299.5
  3. Sixcor – 276.0
  4. Mr Beaufort – 261.7
  5. Jojo Rabbit – 256.0
  6. Lockdown – 228.4
  7. Muker (IRE) – 215.1
  8. Shabaaby – 210.2

Be Proud (IRE) leads the field based on total ratings. Although this horse hasn’t won in the last fifteen races, the fact that he scored 301.1 in total ratings and has all wins at this distance is noteworthy. He was also fourth on his reappearance at this course over a longer trip, suggesting that he may be coming back into form. The switch back to 5f should work in his favour.

Modular Magic is close on the heels of Be Proud in terms of ratings, having totalled 299.5. He has been absent since a disappointing AW effort four months ago but has done most of his winning on turf and is known to perform well fresh. A favourable mark and a return to this sphere make him an interesting prospect.

Sixcor ranks third in terms of total ratings with 276.0. Although he struggled on his seasonal debut at this course, all of his wins have come over C&D. Despite racing off higher marks in this class, he could improve on his second outing of the season.

Mr Beaufort is in fourth place in total ratings. He won off this mark at Goodwood on his final stat for his previous stable. Although he hasn’t shown the same form for his new yard, he may prove resurgent with the tongue-tie fitted and a drop back in class.

Outside the ratings order, Muker (IRE) is one to note. Despite his lower total rating, he has become very well handicapped on peak form and showed signs of encouragement on his second run for his new stable. His losing spell goes back to summer 2020, but he’s now dangerously well handicapped. The comments suggest that he could be an under-the-radar contender in this race.

To summarise, based on the total ratings and the comments provided, Be Proud (IRE) and Modular Magic are likely to be the top contenders, with Sixcor and Mr Beaufort also potentially in the mix. However, Muker (IRE) should not be discounted as a dark horse candidate.
