  1. Kamanika (IRE) – Total: 286.1
Kamanika, the highest rated horse in terms of total ratings, has a mixed record. After a victory at Nottingham in April, she had a rather disappointing fourth-place finish in a handicap at the same course. Despite this, based on her previous success at Nottingham last month, Kamanika should not be ruled out. However, the lack of an explanation for her recent disappointing display suggests that this race might be unpredictable for her.
  2. Ectocross (FR) – Total: 261.0
Ectocross ranks second in total ratings. With a victory at Lingfield in March, this horse has shown potential. However, his last outing at Salisbury was less inspiring where he finished eighth. The handicapper has adjusted his weight down 2 lb since his victory over this course and distance, and considering this, along with his strong total rating, Ectocross could well be a contender.
  3. Royal Dream – Total: 253.3
Royal Dream is the third-highest in total ratings. As a lightly-raced maiden, he displayed a promising run at Southwell, never nearer than fourth. The comment suggests he looks ready for this new trip, hinting at potential improvement, which combined with his high total rating makes him one to watch.
  4. Smooth Ryder (IRE) – Total: 248.1
Smooth Ryder ranks fourth in total ratings. His recent performance at Yarmouth was disappointing, finishing last. However, he has shown promise on the all-weather tracks earlier this year, including a solid performance over this course and distance. It is suggested that it’s too early to assume that he’s not effective on turf, so Smooth Ryder could potentially surprise.
  5. Denis Anthony (IRE) – Total: 243.2
Rounding out the top five in total ratings is Denis Anthony. His last run at Beverley was uninspiring, where he finished ninth, albeit with running left. He has been dropped 3 lb since, and with a decent total rating, Denis Anthony could pose an each-way threat.

As for horses outside the top ratings, Shazam (IRE) and Lady Bryanston (IRE) are worth mentioning. Shazam, although rated lower in totals, is making his handicap debut and the suggestion is to keep an eye on betting for potential interest. Lady Bryanston, stepping up in trip, could potentially improve going down the handicap route, although a significant step up is required.

In conclusion, based on total ratings, Kamanika (IRE), Ectocross (FR), and Royal Dream appear to be the top contenders. However, as always, horse racing can be unpredictable and other factors such as conditions on the day and the horses’ current form and fitness levels should also be considered.

6.10 Lingfield (7 runners)

1m2f

The 6.10 Lingfield race is a Class 5 handicap featuring 7 runners over 1m2f on Good To Firm ground. The average Official Rating (OR) of the field is 71, with a median OR of 73, suggesting a fairly evenly matched field. Based on the total ratings, Cavalluccio (IRE) is the top-rated horse, followed by Eklil, Balgair, Richard P Smith (IRE), Golden Mayflower, Glory Nights (IRE), and Azamhan (FR) respectively.

  1. Cavalluccio (IRE) has the highest total rating at 342.4. He had his last win at Chelmsford City in April and delivered an excellent performance recently, finishing second in a handicap at Yarmouth only six days ago. This consistent form suggests that he should be expected to be right in the mix in this race, making him a top contender.
  2. Eklil is the second-highest rated horse with a total of 325.1, though recent form does not look promising. Eklil finished ninth out of 11 in a handicap at Newmarket and has been off the track for seven months. Therefore, despite the rating, improvement would be needed for a top finish.
  3. Balgair comes in as the third-highest rated horse with a total of 323.6. The horse put in a creditable performance finishing fifth in a handicap at Chelmsford City over a slightly shorter trip. Back up in distance, Balgair could certainly be in the frame and give a good account.
  4. Richard P Smith (IRE) rates fourth with a total of 314.4. He recently showed promising form with a creditable third-place finish in a handicap at Windsor. The addition of a visor for the first time may bring further improvement, making him one to watch.

Looking beyond the ratings, Glory Nights (IRE) stands out. While rated sixth in terms of total ratings, the lightly-raced maiden was seventh in a minor event at Kempton, significantly steps up in trip and makes his turf/handicap debut. With this change of conditions, Glory Nights can’t be ruled out, potentially offering an interesting choice despite a lower total rating.

In summary, Cavalluccio (IRE) emerges as the top contender given his high rating and recent strong form. However, horses like Balgair, Richard P Smith (IRE), and particularly Glory Nights (IRE), despite a lower rating, may offer strong competition.

7.40 Lingfield (7 runners)
Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap
7f

The 7.40 Lingfield race is a Class 5 handicap featuring 7 runners over 7f on Good To Firm ground. The average Official Rating (OR) of the field is 65, with a median OR of 65. Based on the total ratings, Triggered (IRE) is the top-rated horse, followed by Wizarding, Revolutionary Man (IRE), Ajrad, Be Prepared, King Cabo (USA), and Nubough (IRE) respectively.

  1. Triggered (IRE) is the highest rated with a total of 394.1. A course winner with three wins from ten runs this year, Triggered recently claimed victory in a handicap at Wolverhampton. In a bid for a hat-trick, he carries a 4 lb penalty, but given his high rating and impressive form, he holds a strong chance in this race.
  2. Wizarding ranks second in total ratings with 329.6. He won at Kempton in November and finished third in a handicap at the same course, where it was suggested he exerted himself too early. Despite a 146-day absence from racing, his previous performances cannot be discounted, and he should be respected in this race.
  3. Revolutionary Man (IRE) is third in the ratings with a total of 303.3. He has been consistent recently, having won here in May and then running a strong second in a handicap at Yarmouth just six days ago. The return of cheekpieces and his good form suggest he’s a viable contender here.

Beyond the ratings, King Cabo (USA) and Ajrad are worth mentioning. While they’re rated sixth and fourth respectively in total ratings, they both showed promise in recent outings. King Cabo had a good second place finish in a handicap at Lingfield, while Ajrad, who won here in November, gave a solid performance at Lingfield in a handicap despite not having a clear run.

In summary, Triggered (IRE) appears to have an excellent chance in this race given his high rating and strong recent form. However, other contenders such as Wizarding and Revolutionary Man (IRE) should also be expected to compete fiercely, along with potential dark horses like King Cabo (USA) and Ajrad.

8.10 Lingfield (9 runners)
Sky Sports Racing HD Virgin 535 Handicap
6f

The 8.10 Lingfield race is a Class 5 handicap with 9 runners contesting over 6f on Good To Firm ground. The average Official Rating (OR) is 72, with a median OR of 72. Based on the total ratings, Nogo’s Dream is the top-rated horse, followed by Girl Magic, Ravens Up (IRE), Class Member, Daytona Lady (IRE), Ascari, Spirit Of Breeze (IRE), Overnight Oats, and Royal Bliss (IRE).

  1. Nogo’s Dream stands out with a total rating of 372.7, significantly ahead of the rest of the field. This lightly raced winner, successful at Wolverhampton in March, had a good second-place finish in a handicap at Ascot. Notably, blinkers are being introduced for the first time, making Nogo’s Dream a key player in this race.
  2. Girl Magic ranks second with a total rating of 322.1. However, her recent performance was less than impressive, finishing seventh in a handicap at Musselburgh. Despite being 2 lb lower now, others might be better treated.
  3. Ravens Up (IRE) comes in third in the ratings, posting a total of 319.6. Recent performance was only moderate, finishing fifth in a handicap at Newcastle. However, considering her effort at Wolverhampton and her previous success at Ripon, Ravens Up (IRE) can’t be overlooked.

Beyond the ratings, Ascari and Overnight Oats warrant consideration. Ascari, although sixth in the ratings, showed promise by finishing third in a maiden at Leicester. As he’s now entering a handicap, he might be seen in a better light, assuming the faster ground doesn’t hinder his performance. Overnight Oats, who’s eighth in the ratings, had a respectable fifth-place finish in a handicap at Wolverhampton and is entitled to improve from that run, which makes him worth considering.

In conclusion, Nogo’s Dream appears to have an excellent chance in this race given his high rating and impressive recent form. However, other contenders like Girl Magic and Ravens Up (IRE) are expected to put up a strong fight. Ascari and Overnight Oats, while not top-rated, also show promise based on their recent performances.

Based on the total ratings provided, the horses for the 8.45 Lingfield race rank in the following order:

  1. Yimou (IRE) – 328.2
  2. Agapanther – 306.3
  3. First Company (IRE) – 288.8
  4. Areille (IRE) – 271.1
  5. Thegreatestshowman – 267.3
  6. Mr Fayez (IRE) – 246.9
  7. Port Noir – 244.3
  8. Raphel Jake – 188.7
  9. Haveagobeau – NON RUNNER

Firstly, “Yimou (IRE)” tops the ratings list with a total score of 328.2. With a recent commendable second position at Southwell, he is now back up in trip and should make a strong impact in this race. His performance and high rating make him a key contender.

Second on the ratings is “Agapanther” with a total of 306.3. Despite her lack of wins on turf, she has previously placed over this course and distance and at Ffos Las last season. Therefore, she could prove to be competitive.

The third-rated horse is “First Company (IRE)” with a total of 288.8. With a good second position at Salisbury just 12 days ago, he is in decent form and cannot be discounted.

Moving further down the list, “Areille (IRE)” ranks fourth with a total score of 271.1. However, his recent form has not been inspiring, making it difficult to back him confidently in this race.

In fifth place, we have “Thegreatestshowman” with a total of 267.3. Despite a winless streak over seventeen runs, he could benefit from stepping back up to 6f but he still needs to show a significant improvement to be a real threat.

In conclusion, based on the ratings and recent form, “Yimou (IRE)” and “Agapanther” appear to be the top contenders in this race, with “First Company (IRE)” also having a fair chance. While the other horses will need to show significant improvement to challenge the leaders, the unpredictable nature of racing means surprises are always possible.
