A look at the feature race at Windsor using the total speed ratings.

7.10 Windsor (8 runners)
Fitzdares Sprint Series Handicap

Using the Total speed ratings and comments, here’s a brief assessment of each horse:

  1. Bedford Flyer (IRE): Strong best speed rating (95.2) but no track and distance data. Recent performance has been respectable. A horse to watch, especially considering the potential of its new stable.
  2. May Sonic: Non Runner
  3. Mountain Peak: Average ratings generally but has solid track, distance and going metrics which suggests it’s suited to this race. A recent performance was hampered, and it’s expected to do better in this slightly easier race.
  4. Fernando Rah: Reasonable ratings across the board with good best and average ratings at the track and distance. A slight drop in form during the last race, but potentially due to pushing too hard too soon. Could do well if strategy is adjusted.
  5. Equality: Good ratings overall but a slightly lower average. Previous winner at course & distance. Recent performance was hindered due to poor draw.
  6. Dream Composer (FR): Non Runner
  7. Isle Of Lismore (IRE): Moderate ratings but has won on course & distance before. A strong recent performance suggests it’s a competitor to consider.
  8. Night On Earth (IRE): Best speed is good (92.6), but recent form is not promising. However, it’s well weighted and if it can find its form again, it could surprise.
  9. Democracy Dilemma (IRE): Average ratings across the board. Recent form isn’t strong, but it’s won recently in April.
  10. Swayze: Lower ratings than others but recent strong performance gives it potential. Despite a weight rise, it’s one to consider.

Given this, Bedford Flyer, Fernando Rah, and Isle Of Lismore stand out due to their speed ratings and recent form. However, as always in horse racing, there’s always an element of unpredictability.
