Based on the ratings provided, here’s the ranking of the runners from highest to lowest:

  1. Ten Past Midnight – 418.1
  2. Rock On Tommy – 404.5
  3. Definite – 360.6
  4. Toughasoldboots (IRE) – 264.0
  5. Scots Gold (IRE) – 244.3
  6. Pot Of Paint – 236.0
  7. African Sun (IRE) – 221.4
  8. Urabamba (IRE) – 196.1
  9. Imac Wood (FR) – 155.3

Let’s assess the comments for each runner:

  1. Ten Past Midnight: Needs a revival after three poor runs. Betting suggested better was expected last time. The race is weak, so improvement could put him in contention.
  2. Rock On Tommy: Won comfortably over C&D last week under a penalty. Coped well with heavy ground. Looks the most likely answer.
  3. Definite: Flat winner. Placed in one of his maiden hurdles and open to improvement on handicap hurdle debut. Mainly raced on good or faster ground.
  4. Toughasoldboots (IRE): Defied similar mark at Carlisle on heavy ground in March but tailed off in two subsequent runs. Bit to prove.
  5. Scots Gold (IRE): 0-6 on the Flat. Promising runs in three juvenile hurdles but finished well beaten on handicap debut after a long absence. Questions to answer.
  6. Pot Of Paint: Capable handicapper on the Flat. Hasn’t shown much over hurdles yet. First run for a respected outfit. Market could provide insights.
  7. African Sun (IRE): Beaten about 14l when third in a Southwell novice handicap last year and hasn’t progressed. Unconvincing.
  8. Urabamba (IRE): Only 1-23. Not far away over fences during the spring but comfortably held back hurdling in recent runs. Needs improvement.
  9. Imac Wood (FR): Won twice over fences in France. Only notable effort in five British starts was a fourth-place finish at Bangor. Had a wind operation. Moderately performed since.

Based on this analysis, Rock On Tommy stands out as the best pick in this race. He won comfortably over the same course and distance last week and seems to cope well with the conditions. Ten Past Midnight and Definite also have chances based on their comments.

Mares Novices Hurdle (GBB Race)

Based on the ratings provided, here’s the ranking of the runners from highest to lowest:

  1. Manimole – 422.1
  2. Mays Hill – 352.1
  3. Police Academy (IRE) – 257.7
  4. Time For Joy (IRE) – 229.6
  5. Miss Pearl (IRE) – 212.5
  6. Mountain Rapid (IRE) – 67.6

Let’s assess the comments for each runner:

  1. Manimole: Made all for a 9-length success at Worcester. Consistent performer and looks likely to put up another good account despite the penalty.
  2. Mays Hill: Won a Fontwell bumper and ran poorly on hurdling debut when tailed off behind Manimole. All previous runs on good ground.
  3. Police Academy (IRE): Maiden under rules but has been third over hurdles and runner-up over fences. Excusable failure in the latest run. Best form over further.
  4. Time For Joy (IRE): Won Irish points before being bought. Had a poor run at Cartmel after jumping slowly at the first flight. May be capable of better.
  5. Miss Pearl (IRE): Showed improvement with a first-time hood but has been tailed off in two runs since then. Faces a tough task at these weights.
  6. Mountain Rapid (IRE): Making a very belated debut at the age of 11. Dam is a half-sister to a high-class chase winner.

Based on this analysis, Manimole appears to be the best pick in this race. With a strong rating and a recent impressive win, she is likely to be a strong contender. Police Academy also has potential based on previous form and could be a threat on her stable debut. Mays Hill and Time For Joy have shown promise but need to improve on their recent performances. Miss Pearl and Mountain Rapid face significant challenges in this race.

Nigel Kirby Photography Handicap Chase
2m4f

Based on the ratings provided, here’s the ranking of the runners from highest to lowest:

  1. Judge Earle (IRE) – 425.4
  2. No Getaway (IRE) – 322.9
  3. Pawpaw – 312.6
  4. Patagonia (FR) – 212.5
  5. Sholsang (IRE) – 142.5

Let’s assess the comments for each runner:

  1. Judge Earle (IRE): Had five chase wins last summer but hasn’t shown the same form this season. Prefers longer distances.
  2. No Getaway (IRE): Returned to form unexpectedly and won a hunter chase at Newton Abbot. Has a decent rating and should be considered back in a handicap.
  3. Pawpaw: Previously won two races in a visor but finished last of four runners in his final run for David Bridgwater. Possibilities if he can bounce back from that disappointment.
  4. Patagonia (FR): Narrowly beaten on stable debut at Wetherby but hasn’t performed well since then. Tongue-tie has been left off.
  5. Sholsang (IRE): Has a standout performance with a close second in a beginners’ chase in Ireland, but his overall achievements are not as strong. Tongue-tie added for British/stable debut.

Based on this analysis, Judge Earle has the highest rating and could bounce back to his previous form, but may need furthur to do so. No Getaway has shown recent improvement and looks a better option, while Pawpaw could be a contender if he can shrug off his poor performance in the previous race. Patagonia and Sholsang have inconsistencies in their recent form and may face challenges in this race.

3.52 Catterick (8 runners)
5th Regiment Royal Artillery Handicap
6f

Based on the ratings provided, here’s the ranking of the runners from highest to lowest:

  1. Blazing Son – 463.5
  2. Prospect – 417.1
  3. Muscika – 407.7
  4. Ecclesiastical – 398.5
  5. Catch Cunningham (IRE) – 376.8
  6. Showalong – 365.8
  7. Oso Rapido (IRE) – 355.3
  8. Quercus (IRE) – 324.4

Let’s assess the comments for each runner:

  1. Blazing Son: Good recent strike-rate, with four wins from the last six races. Creditable fourth at Thirsk on return to turf. In form and may still have more progress. Solid chance.
  2. Prospect: Acts on any ground. All wins in Class 5, including a recent win over C&D. Placed in Class 4 at Hamilton. May find one or two too good in this higher grade.
  3. Muscika: Respectable fourth at York recently. Entered the ‘century club’ with a career record of 14-100. 2lb below last winning mark. Enters the reckoning.
  4. Ecclesiastical: Has form figures of 5113 for the new yard. Wins gained at Ripon and Chester. Probably did too much on the front end in the latest outing. Has clear possibilities if effective back at 6f.
  5. Catch Cunningham (IRE): Out of sorts this season and has enough to prove back at 6f. Similar profile to Showalong, mostly campaigned over 5f.
  6. Showalong: Suited by slow ground. Has a 6f win as a 2-year-old but not seen over this distance for two years. Form has dipped in two runs since May win. Not the percentage call.
  7. Oso Rapido (IRE): Lacked consistency this season. Ties in with Muscika based on York running. Holds a major chance if building on that effort. Previous winner of this race.
  8. Quercus (IRE): Good second at Thirsk recently. Has three wins at Catterick. Upped in grade but gets plenty of weight. Interesting contender.

Based on this analysis, Oso Rapido stands out as the best pick in this race. Despite lacking consistency this season, the horse has tied in with Muscika based on their recent running at York and has previously won this race off a higher mark. Blazing Son and Muscika also have strong chances based on their comments.

Based on the ratings provided, here’s the ranking of the runners from highest to lowest:

  1. Fred Bear (IRE) – 486.6
  2. Dance Havana – 408.8
  3. Cherry Cola – 399.0
  4. Capricorn Prince – 381.7
  5. Rays The One – 321.9
  6. Trooper Bisdee (IRE) – 309.0
  7. Kindgirl – 255.4
  8. Eagles Realm – 251.9
  9. First Quest (USA) – 235.0
  10. Highland Flyer – 212.1

Let’s assess the comments for each runner:

  1. Fred Bear (IRE): Two wins and a creditable third in his last three starts. Lots of form on good to soft ground. Stays 2m. Should be competitive if the ground is okay.
  2. Dance Havana: Short-head winner from the front in a Yarmouth maiden. Won from towards the rear in a 1m6f handicap at Thirsk. Tongue tied in all starts, plus cheekpieces on last three. Player.
  3. Cherry Cola: Won at Yarmouth over 1m6f. Solid placed efforts over 2m on her three starts since. Competitive on good to soft and soft ground earlier in her career. Should be considered.
  4. Capricorn Prince: Beaten a head on his latest outing over 1m6f. Has form on turf, including a win at this track in 2020. Needs to prove himself on turf recently.
  5. Rays The One: Won on AW Flat at Chelmsford over 1m6f. Lightly raced on Flat turf but should still be competitive. Form over hurdles was not maintained.
  6. Trooper Bisdee (IRE): Improved to win on handicap/seasonal debut over 11.4f at Yarmouth. Disappointing over 1m6f at Sandown in the subsequent run. May have a big shout if the latest run can be forgiven.
  7. Kindgirl: Third of eight in a handicap at Leicester over 1m4f on her first run for a new yard after a 13-month absence. Looked like she could get beyond 1m4f. May have more to offer.
  8. Eagles Realm: 2-7 over hurdles, both wins over 2m2f. 0-16 on the Flat, but usually thereabouts in AW Flat handicaps. Limited experience on turf.
  9. First Quest (USA): Below best on final hurdles start. Tailed off in a Flat run at Goodwood over 2m. Testing ground was not ideal. Questions to answer.
  10. Highland Flyer: Not on a great mark based on recent handicaps. Moves up from about 11.5f. Enlisted a 7lb claimer.

Based on this analysis, Fred Bear (IRE) appears to be the best pick in this race. With two wins and a creditable third in his last three starts, and a good record on good to soft ground, he should be competitive if the ground conditions suit. Dance Havana and Cherry Cola also have strong chances based on their comments.

  1. Might And Mercy – 363.5
  2. Is That Love (IRE) – 318.9
  3. New Route (IRE) – 289.7
  4. Santa Catarina – 276.2
  5. Brown Eagle (IRE) – 270.6
  6. Roderick – 250.7
  7. Field Of Honour – 234.5
  8. Ard Mhacha (IRE) – 227.3
  9. Talking Tough (IRE) – 201.7
  10. Irresistible You (IRE) – 189.0
  11. Super Surprise (IRE) – 98.8

Let’s assess the comments for each runner:

  1. Might And Mercy: Landed a 7f handicap at Dundalk. Soundly beaten in subsequent handicap outings. Suffered interference when sixth in a claimer at Dundalk. May struggle to reverse form with Is That Love.
  2. Is That Love (IRE): Winner of seven races. Finished a close second in a Limerick claimer. Third in a claimer at Dundalk on first start for James McAuley. Hit the front too soon in the previous race.
  3. New Route (IRE): Showing mild promise in maidens at Leopardstown and Limerick. Less exposed than several contenders and has potential for improvement.
  4. Santa Catarina: Placed three times last season, including in a maiden claimer. Lacks recent outing and has plenty to find on official ratings. Wears a hood and tongue-tie for the first time.
  5. Brown Eagle (IRE): Sole win came in a 7f Roscommon claimer last season. Promising seasonal return in a handicap at Cork, but two less encouraging runs since then. Hard to fancy at current weights.
  6. Roderick: Useful form over 7f/1m in France. Showed ability when fourth in a 6f conditions event at Dundalk. Failed to reproduce that form in a 1m claimer at the same venue. Lacks race-fitness compared to stablemate Is That Love.
  7. Field Of Honour: 1m winner on good-to-firm ground in Britain. Out of form in three runs for the current yard, including a race of this type at Dundalk.
  8. Ard Mhacha (IRE): Twice placed for Johnny Murtagh last year, including in a Galway nursery. No show on stable debut in a Naas handicap and in a Dundalk contest. Needs to prove himself.
  9. Talking Tough (IRE): Won two handicaps in 2020, including a Galway festival event. Slumped in the ratings to a mark of 40. Finished towards the back in three outings this season.
  10. Irresistible You (IRE): Fair fifth of 14 in a Bellewstown claimer. Failed to build on that in a race at Fairyhouse.
  11. Super Surprise (IRE): Tailed off in two bumper starts. Trip may suit better but lacks appeal.

Based on this analysis, Might And Mercy appears to be the best pick in this race. Despite being soundly beaten in subsequent outings, the previous win in a Dundalk handicap and the interference suffered in the claimer suggest there is potential for a competitive performance. Is That Love and New Route also have chances based on their comments.

  7. Albegone – 307.5
  8. Ohnojoe (IRE) – 290.2
  9. High Opinion – 270.4

Let’s assess the comments for each runner:

  1. Kraken Power (IRE): Two 5f AW wins. Held form well, most recently finishing fifth at Ayr. Poor strike-rate on turf.
  2. Mrs Bagerran (IRE): Close second over C&D on penultimate outing. Made all to win at Musselburgh. In-form mare getting weight all round.
  3. Ben Macdui (IRE): Couple of sprint wins for previous stable. Made the frame in two of four runs for new yard, close fourth at Newcastle. Possibilities off the same mark.
  4. Dandy Spirit (IRE): Won at Wetherby and Nottingham. Close fifth at Doncaster last time. May struggle for pace over a bare 5f without blinkers.
  5. Slingsbytoo (IRE): Ran well at Doncaster, close fourth. Dropped to 6f with cheekpieces. Sharp 5f may not suit.
  6. Premier Option (IRE): Seven-race maiden. Better effort when third over C&D on reappearance. Returns with tongue-tie and cheekpieces.
  7. Albegone: Acts on soft and good to firm ground. Not solid on 2023 form. Well handicapped if returning to best.
  8. Ohnojoe (IRE): Signs of a return to form at Beverley. 1-1 at Catterick. Interesting on third start for new stable.
  9. High Opinion: Best effort this season when third at Wetherby. Likely to reverse placings over this 5f. Nicely treated and enters calculations.

Based on this analysis, Kraken Power appears to be the best pick in this race. Despite a poor strike-rate on turf, the recent form and previous AW wins suggest potential for a competitive performance. Mrs Bagerran and Ben Macdui also have chances based on their comments.

  2. Red Hat Eagle: Placed on both AW starts in the autumn. Fitness to prove after a 254-day absence. Potential for improvement.
  3. Macho Mania (IRE): Two seconds on AW but struggled in turf handicaps. Respectable third in a Southwell novice. Risky on turf return.
  4. Valtellina (IRE): Fourth at Newcastle and respectable fifth in a Newmarket maiden. May build upon previous performance.
  5. Liberty: Low-key debut on heavy ground but scope for improvement this year. First foal from a Listed-placed mare.

Let’s assess the comments for each runner:

  1. Gatwick Kitten (USA): Back-to-back wins, including a C&D win. More to do in this handicap but considered in current form.
  2. Lilkian: 11 AW wins but winless on turf. Went close over C&D last month. Only 2lb higher today. Likely contender.
  3. Foreseeable Future (FR): Two wins in May. Disappointing run last time out. Fine over today’s trip and appreciates Class 6. Needs to bounce back.
  4. Eight Mile (IRE): Comfortable win at Brighton over 6f last week. Suited by the drop back in trip. Seriously considered.
  5. Bluebells Boy: Well down the field on first three starts this year but ran well when fourth at Newcastle last month. A player if able to build on recent effort.
  6. Enchanted Night: Opened account at 32nd attempt. Fine over 6f. In good form but 4lb rise may make her vulnerable.
  7. Carry On Aitch (IRE): Opened account at Windsor but last of ten under penalty in subsequent run. Overall profile remains unconvincing.

  9. Shorts On: Surprising win over 7f here last month. Well handicapped but soundly beaten over that trip since. Never contested a sprint before.
  10. Desert Illusion (IRE): 11-race maiden. Placed twice in cheekpieces but two lesser efforts in a visor. Needs to up her game.

  16. Itsalonglongroad – 184.4
  17. The Alpha Man (IRE) – 183.8
  18. Bayou Belle (IRE) – 175.2

Let’s assess the comments for each runner:

  1. Slieve Bearnagh (IRE): Dual winner up to 1m2f. Slight drop in trip could see him play a role off a fair mark.
  2. Folly Beach: Maiden after 16 starts. Career-best performance over slightly further. Champion jockey takes over. Big shout if she can overcome the draw.
  3. Contrapposto (IRE): Dual-purpose sort. Poor strike-rate on the flat. Hard to fancy based on recent form.
  4. Wojood: Won on the flat last August. Uncompetitive this year but showed mild improvement in the latest run.
  5. Tastyee (IRE): Off the mark at 14th attempt. Solid third at Fairyhouse despite getting bumped. Could remain competitive.
  6. Hello Power (IRE): Consistent last year. Gradually working into form this season. Good third over 1m4f at Tipperary. Slightly shorter trip to suit.
  7. Jabbar (IRE): Winner on handicap debut on AW in 2021. Encouraging run on second start for the current yard. First attempt at this trip.
  8. Valleyoftheeagles (IRE): Improved hurdler. Cheekpieces now fitted on flat return. High opening mark.
  9. Romann (IRE): Endured a long absence. More encouraging signs lately, including staying-on third over 1m4f. Rider’s valuable claim a major positive. Shortlisted.
  10. Der Mc (IRE): Out of form on the flat and over hurdles. Recent comeback run may have brought him on. Others preferred.
  11. Chatterbox (IRE): 8-race maiden. Went close over C&D last October. Encouraging comeback run at Limerick. Consider if getting a run.
  12. Fond Farewell (IRE): Immediate impact this season with a win. Tame effort in a similar contest last month. Needs to bounce back.
  13. Ha Long Bay (IRE): Two wins over 7f/1m in Britain. Regressive last year. Best watched on Irish debut.
  14. Action Motion (IRE): Cork maiden hurdle winner. Dropped in the handicap since the last run in this sphere. Considered.
  15. Breakintheclouds (IRE): Maiden after 10 flat starts. Well beaten over hurdles. Headgear combination tried for the first time.
  16. Itsalonglongroad: Versatile dual-purpose sort. Regressive this season. Plenty to find with Folly Beach. Wrong weight.
  17. The Alpha Man (IRE): Sole flat win came over 1m two years ago. Last of 10 on return from a break. Limited appeal at this trip.
  18. Bayou Belle (IRE): First reserve. Maiden under both codes. Went close over C&D last autumn. Recent runs leave her with plenty to find.

Based on this analysis, Slieve Bearnagh appears to be the best pick in this race. With a fair mark and a slight drop in trip, Slieve Bearnagh has a good chance of playing a role in the race. Folly Beach, Hello Power, and Romann are also worth considering based on their recent performances and form.

  8. Zoffany Portrait (IRE) – 209.9
  9. Harmonious – 207.8
  10. Buford – 198.3
  11. Adaayinourlife – 193.5
  12. Wilpena Pound (IRE) – 171.9

Let’s assess the comments for each runner:

  1. Miss Sligo (IRE): AW and turf winner. Landed her first win on turf in a similar event. Cannot be dismissed at this level.
  2. Alioski: Flat/hurdles winner. Third in a similar contest last month. Respected if building on that.
  3. Owen Little: Two wins on the AW. May have needed the first start after a long break. Probably needs further than this distance.
  4. Optik (IRE): Runner-up in his last four starts. Beaten half a length at Lingfield this month. Likelier winner.
  5. Six Strings: Seven-time winner, including twice at Wolverhampton. Can go well fresh. Stamina to prove at this distance.
  6. Dame Sarra: Ran her best race on her eighth start when second at Lingfield last time. Claims if building on that.
  7. Petite Sioux (IRE): Well beaten in previous races. Not much improvement on handicap debut. More needed.
  8. Zoffany Portrait (IRE): Unplaced in all 11 starts. Stamina to prove at this distance. Little appeal despite the drop in grade.
  9. Harmonious: Beaten just over a length into second in a similar race over C&D. Hasn’t matched that form since. Cannot be recommended.
  10. Buford: Beaten a length by Miss Sligo in a similar race over C&D. Less prolific than Miss Sligo. Likely to find a few too good again.
  11. Adaayinourlife: Sole success was at Lingfield. Patchy form and a bit to find in this field.
  12. Wilpena Pound (IRE): Ran poorly on stable debut. Best effort for the previous trainer came in blinkers. Makes little appeal.

Based on this analysis, Miss Sligo appears to be the best pick in this race. With recent success on turf and her previous form on the AW, Miss Sligo has a good chance of performing well at this level. Alioski and Optik are also worth considering based on their recent performances and form.

Based on the ratings provided, here’s the ranking of the runners from highest to lowest:

  1. Mirrie Dancers (IRE) – 420.8
  2. Victoriano (IRE) – 399.3
  3. Glory And Honour (IRE) – 375.8
  4. Winklevi (FR) – 327.5
  5. Social City – 311.8
  6. Kittens Dream – 251.7

Let’s assess the comments for each runner:

  1. Mirrie Dancers (IRE): Made a winning start for the current stable after a long absence and followed up with another win as the favourite. Up 4lb in weight and faces a new trip, but highly respected due to recent form.
  2. Victoriano (IRE): Missed 2022 but had a C&D win in May and a close third at Catterick in his only start since. Previous form in 2021 was also decent.
  3. Glory And Honour (IRE): Showed good form over 1m4f-2m this season, including a win at this track in May. Form dipped in his last two AW starts, but could still be in contention.
  4. Winklevi (FR): Can front-run and had a good spell earlier this year. After three disappointing performances, he was a close third at Chepstow in his latest outing. Effective over C&D and shouldn’t be dismissed.
  5. Social City: Wore cheekpieces in his last three starts and performed well over C&D, even winning at Lingfield. However, finished last in his latest outing at Newmarket, possibly due to the ground. Still worth considering.
  6. Kittens Dream: Effective over 1m6f-2m and at this track, but hasn’t been in top form recently despite having good form in the past.

Based on this analysis, Mirrie Dancers has the highest rating and is in good form, making him a strong contender. Victoriano has shown recent promise and could just have the edge. Glory And Honour and Winklevi have demonstrated form over similar distances and shouldn’t be overlooked. Social City’s last outing may have been affected by the ground, and Kittens Dream has potential but needs to find his form again. Good race this.
