Here are some horses that catch the eye at Plumpton today based on Timeform ratings, trainer form, and race suitability:

·

13:45 – Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle (Class 4, 3m 217y)

  • Pace Forecast: Weak – Could favour a prominent racer with stamina.
  • Key Contenders:
    • Lumi Plugin (HIF) – Strong Timeform rating (118) and comes from the in-form Moore yard. Big drop back up in trip (from 16f last time), which could suit.
    • Grove Road – Has shown ability over fences, but recent form is inconsistent.
    • San Pedro (HFC) – Well-handicapped and has a + Timeform symbol, indicating potential improvement. Could go well in a weak pace scenario.

Initial Leaning: Lumi Plugin looks solid, while San Pedro is an interesting handicapper at the weights.

14:15 – Maiden Hurdle (Class 4, 1m 7f 195y)

  • Pace Forecast: Very Weak – Could become a tactical affair.
  • Key Contenders:
    • Narragansett (HIF) – Very strong 130p rating, first-time hood, and has a big class edge. Likely to go off short-priced favourite.
    • Dr Waksman (102p) – Improving profile and could fill the frame.

Initial Leaning: Narragansett is the standout and should win if running to form.

14:45 – Novices’ Handicap Chase (Class 4, 2m 3f 164y)

  • Pace Forecast: Very Weak – Front-runners could dictate.
  • Key Contenders:
    • Theonlywayiswessex (HFC) – Solid novice chaser with 110+ rating and is well-handicapped.
    • Walks Like The Man (113+) – Lightly raced over fences and open to improvement.
    • John W Creasy (118) – Has posted a big rating and is well-treated off 88.

Initial Leaning: John W Creasy looks very well-treated and may have been underestimated by the market.

    • Confinentic (117p) – Improving and well-handicapped.
    • Telhimlisten (118) – Interesting at the weights with solid recent form.

    • Unanswered Prayers (143) – Strong form over fences, consistent, and will stay.

Initial Leaning: Invincible Nao looks the class horse here and should go well.

Just the 1 bet for me at Plumpton. Invincible Nao @ 5.9 win 1.80 4 places.

With £18.5K for the winner I don’t think old tricky trousers Gary Moore will be far away with his course winner Invincible Nao, who could still be well treated off a mark of 120, in this company and over this trip. GL

A good patient ride by Caoilin Quinn to see out the trip.
