Race Analysis – 14:10 Navan (Listed Mares’ Novice Hurdle)

Key Takeaways:

Winner: Tareze (Henry de Bromhead, Darragh O’Keeffe) – 15/8

Winning Style: Travelled well, took the lead approaching the last, stayed on strongly, won easily.

Runner-up: Blue Mosque (Noel Meade, D. Meyler) – 5/1 – Kept on for 2nd, no match for the winner.

3rd: Just For Love (Willie Mullins, Paul Townend) – 7/4F – Led but couldn’t respond when challenged, made a mistake at the last.

Performance Review:

Tareze was the clear standout, travelling smoothly and asserting dominance late on. Looks like a serious prospect for mares’ graded races going forward, especially on soft/heavy ground.

Blue Mosque ran respectably but lacked the finishing kick. May need a slightly shorter trip or a more tactical ride.

Just For Love was strongly pressed early and didn’t find much when asked. The mistake at the last sealed her fate, but she still finished a respectable 3rd.

Horses to Note for the Future:

Tareze – A classy, improving mare who is better than Listed class. Could target a Grade 3 or even Grade 2 mares’ hurdle next time.

Blue Mosque – Ran well but was outclassed late. May find a winnable race in weaker Listed or good Handicap company.

Just For Love – Needs to brush up jumping but has ability. Might be better in a slightly weaker race or with less pressure for the lead.
