I’ve used The Timeform Ratings & Flags from Racecard+ in The Sporting Life to find 3 strong contenders today.

·

🏇 15:05 Wincanton – Klic Boum (4/1)

📍 Trainer: Evan Williams | Jockey: Isabel Williams (3lb claim)

Klic Boum is a horse who’s been hinting at more to come. He ran a cracker last time out at Hereford, staying on strongly despite not getting the clearest of runs. That was over 2m4f, and the step up in trip today should bring further improvement.

His handicap mark looks very workable, and Isabel Williams takes off 3lb, which is always a plus. The race looks competitive, but he’s got plenty in his favour and is definitely overpriced at 4/1.

🔹 Verdict: Great each-way value but should be fighting for the win.

🏇 15:18 Wetherby – Heads Or Harps (9/4)

📍 Trainer: Lucinda Russell | Jockey: D R Fox

Heads Or Harps made a really encouraging chase debut last time out. He had a shocking bit of luck when badly hampered two out but still finished well to grab fourth. That was over a similar trip, and he was staying on strongly at the end, so he should strip much fitter today.

Lucinda Russell has been banging in the winners, and with a cleaner run, this horse looks like he should take some beating.

🔹 Verdict: Should go very close – improving young chaser in a winnable race.

🏇 14:45 Wetherby – Support Act (11/4)

📍 Trainer: T Lawes | Jockey: K Brogan

Support Act is another horse who shaped better than the result suggests last time. That was his first run over fences, and he made a couple of jumping errors, but he was still a solid fourth in a decent race.

The extra experience today should help, and this looks a weaker contest than the one at Newbury. If he can get into a good rhythm early, he’s got a big chance of landing this.

🔹 Verdict: Improving chaser with a strong winning chance.
