A competitive low-grade handicap where a very strong early pace is forecast, which could set things up for a late closer or well-drawn stalker. Several in-form contenders line up, but BOLD SUITOR looks poised to strike.
Strongest Contender: BOLD SUITOR
Craig Benton’s 8-year-old posted a race high adjusted Timeform rating of 69 on reappearance at Southwell when a close second in a race run at a strong pace—conditions likely to be replicated here. He’s well drawn to attack from stall 2, tactically versatile, and rates as the most likely winner, especially if the front-runners cut each other’s throats.
Main Danger: TILL IT SHINES
A recent C&D winner who showed battling qualities to land a minor event last week. He’s likely to be prominent again and while the strong pace might test his stamina late, he’s clearly in peak form and rates a big danger if able to settle early.
Each-Way Play: RAVENGLASS
Another last-time-out C&D winner, this time for Adrian Wintle. Despite his trainer being on a quiet spell, Ravenglass has been steadily improving and arrives off a career-best. With a good low draw in stall 1 and solid closing speed, he could be a big threat late on at fair odds around 8/1.
