16:30 Worcester – STEP INTO LUXURY WITH PURPLE GRANITE HANDICAP HURDLE (Class 4, 0–110)

·

Race Conditions:
A 2m7f handicap hurdle for 4yo+ rated 0–110, run on good ground. Total prize fund: £4,066.
Pace forecast: Strong, with multiple front-runners or prominent racers in the field.

Pace/Dynamic Notes:
The anticipated strong pace is a key factor. Notably, Keppel Queen and Alexandra Larose tend to race prominently or lead, which may leave them vulnerable late on. Sirekoff, typically held up or ridden just off the pace, could benefit from the race collapsing in front.

Key Contenders:

SIREKOFF (IRE) – Timeform Rating: 115
Returned to form with a solid second at Bangor in a well-run race. His overall profile is patchy, but he’s lightly raced for his age and has settled into David Pipe’s yard. Rated 105, he appears well treated. Handles soft/heavy, and the pace angle should suit.
Score: 8/10

ALEXANDRA LAROSE (IRE) – TFR: 111
Scored twice in mares’ novice handicaps before a tame odds-on fifth last time out. Still open to progress now stepping up to 3m+ for the first time. The form of her Southwell win has worked out, but she’ll need to settle better if the pace is strong early. Olly Murphy has a solid 21% summer strike-rate.
Score: 7.5/10

THANKYOURLUCKYSTAR – TFR: 114
Consistent at this level and was third in a small field last time at Ludlow. He usually races close to the pace, which might count against him today, but he stays well and has performed at Worcester before. Trained by Alastair Ralph, who also runs Kiss My Face.
Score: 7/10

KEPPEL QUEEN – TFR: 113
A fair mare but tends to force the pace, which could be a disadvantage here. She has run with credit in better races and looks fairly treated off 104, though a step up in trip plus returning from a 38-day break off a below-par run at Chepstow requires a leap of faith.
Score: 6.5/10

Interesting Outsiders & Others:

KISS MY FACE – TFR: 110
Won here earlier in the season but has been patchy since. Didn’t finish last time and lost a shoe, which offers an excuse. Capable on his day but has top weight and is inconsistent.
Score: 5.5/10

REBEL INTENTIONS (IRE) – TFR: ?
Out of form over fences and hurdles but is now back to his last winning mark. Emma Lavelle has had intermittent success with similar types but hard to trust after recent performances.
Score: 5/10

THIRTYFOUR THIRTY – TFR: ?
Newly with Joe Tickle. Ran in a voided race last time. Prior form is weak and he hasn’t finished closer than sixth in five starts this season. Still, his mark has dropped considerably.
Score: 4.5/10

MARMALADE TIME – TFR: ?
Won a mares’ novice in early career but has shown nothing since. Charlie Deutsch is an eye-catching booking, but Mel Rowley’s yard is cold.
Score: 4/10

ZACONY REBEL – TFR: ?
Has shown very little in recent starts and now looks regressive. The strong pace might help him to pick up the pieces, but no solid evidence of a revival.
Score: 3.5/10

Each-Way Consideration (9 runners):

Given field size and open nature, Keppel Queen and Thankyourluckystar could be place-only angles if prices are generous. Sirekoff looks the most solid from a win/place stance.

Trainer Trends:

Alastair Ralph runs two; has had success at Worcester in summer handicaps.

Olly Murphy (Alexandra Larose) holds a 21% summer strike-rate.

David Pipe is quietly effective in staying handicaps when targeting low-grade races with ex-Irish runners.

Tissue Price Estimate:

Sirekoff – 3/1

Alexandra Larose – 4/1

Thankyourluckystar – 5/1

Keppel Queen – 7/1

Kiss My Face – 10/1

Thirtyfour Thirty – 14/1

Rebel Intentions – 16/1

Marmalade Time – 20/1

Zacony Rebel – 40/1

Note: Market movements for any runner returning from a 35+ day layoff—particularly Alexandra Larose, Keppel Queen, and Marmalade Time—could be revealing. Any sustained support might suggest today is a ‘go day’ versus a quiet prep.
