Pace & Draw Angles
Pace Forecast: Strong
Draw Bias: Against Mid
An anticipated strong pace could favour stalkers drawn low or wide, especially if mid-drawn pace duels early. The set-up may benefit closers with tactical speed who can angle out late. Unequal Love is well positioned to track and pounce.

Strongest Contenders
UNEQUAL LOVE (TFR 120) – 9/10
Group-level placed, Listed winner and Wokingham scorer at Royal Ascot. Returned with a flat fifth in a messy race at Newmarket (odds-on), but that should leave her sharper. William Haggas (25% strike rate here) has booked Tom Marquand. Tactically versatile and suited by this track. Major claims.
FROST AT DAWN (TFR 114) – 8/10
Back-to-back Listed runner-up efforts, most recently when neck second at Newmarket behind Tiger Bay. Travels well, consistent, and handles a range of conditions. Oisin Murphy retains the ride for William Knight (positive trainer stat for single runners at meetings). Very solid form, though more exposed than some.
PRIME ART (TFR 112) – 7/10
Classy juvenile for Murtagh, now with Jane Chapple-Hyam. Fifth in a decent renewal of the Summer Stakes at York on sole 2024 start. Strong back-end 2yo form includes a Listed win at Ayr. The 315-day break is a question, but on pedigree and performance, she deserves respect. Market check vital.
NIGHTEYES (TFR 111) – 7/10
Won this C&D in handicap grade and followed up in a Listed Naas race. Flopped on return but shaped as if amiss and has the benefit of course form. David O’Meara’s yard remains in form. Needs to bounce back, but her best form is competitive.

Main Dangers
ROGUE SENSATION (TFR 110) – 6/10
Improved when second in a Listed race at Deauville on her final 2yo start. Form stacks up well with some of today’s rivals. Lack of a recent run is a slight concern (201 days), but she’s unexposed and open to progress for a yard that places its runners well.
MAW LAM (TFR 110) – 6/10
Solid Listed second last season. Yet to match that since but unlucky last time at Cork, where slow start and switching lost ground. Small frame but has a big finish. Needs things to drop right. Often seen to better effect in big fields with a strong pace.
OVER THE BLUES (TFR 104) – 5/10
Rejuvenated last time when third at Ascot behind Get It. Holds Listed second from last summer (behind Nighteyes). Has shown a tendency to regress in form after a peak effort, but clearly capable. Not entirely ruled out.

Interesting Outsiders
FRENCH SAND (TFR 95p) – 5/10
Three runs, and improving fast. Won her maiden in good style on last start. Faces a big jump in class but has the physique and profile to suggest she belongs at this level. First 3yo Listed run – notable from a yard that targets these types. If she’s sharp, could be a minor place player.
PROUDLY YOURS (TFR 103) – 4/10
Steady improver since joining Rod Millman. Fourth in Listed company at Chelmsford and shaped like a late bloomer. Probably needs further progress to be involved, but the hood seems to have helped and she’s consistent. Wide draw not ideal.
PURE ANGEL (TFR 95) – 3/10
Modest Listed sixth latest. Versatile but fully exposed now. Drawn well and has Richard Kingscote on, but little in her profile suggests she’ll suddenly jump forward into contention.
BRAZILIAN ROSE (TFR 93) – 2/10
Likeable type who has been placed off lower marks in handicaps. This is much tougher. Beaten at a lesser level last time and will likely be outclassed.

Final Note:
This race revolves around whether Unequal Love has come on for her reappearance. She sets the standard. Frost At Dawn is battle-hardened at this level, while Prime Art and the progressive Rogue Sensation add depth. Keep an eye on French Sand, who could be a Listed-class 3yo in time, and on any market strength for Prime Art after 315 days off.
