18:27 FAIRYHOUSE – FAIRYNIGHTS AT FAIRYHOUSE HANDICAP (3yo, €7,800, 6f 25y)

·

1. Race Conditions & Pace/Draw Angles

This is a 3yo-only handicap over 6f 25y at Fairyhouse on good ground, with €7,800 in prize money and 9 runners declared. The going is good, with good to firm patches. A strong early pace is expected, and prominent racers are typically favoured at this track and trip. That suits No Return and Send Harry, who both tend to race forward, while others drawn wider or held up may need luck.

2. Strongest Contenders, Dangers & Outsiders

Gazelle D’Or comes into this in good form, having landed a narrow win at the Curragh before a fair third at Naas where she didn’t get the clearest of runs. Billy Lee takes over, and she stays this trip well, usually coming from off the pace.

No Return made all at the Curragh and didn’t get the lead at Naas when fourth behind Temperance. He has a solid profile for this race style, goes forward, and should be well suited by the setup if he breaks smartly.

Hugo’s Girl is knocking on the door, with back-to-back placed efforts including a close third at the Curragh last time. She often starts slowly and races from off the pace, so she’ll need things to fall right. She’s consistent and handles good ground.

Send Harry doesn’t have the most consistent record, but his best run came when racing prominently, which could be a plus here. Seamie Heffernan is booked, and he might go better than his odds suggest if allowed to bowl along.

Red Veil returns from a 322-day absence and makes her handicap debut. She showed promise in her first couple of starts and now gets Colin Keane in the saddle. The trainer has a fair record with handicap debutants, and the market could guide.

Misappropriation represents a top stable and had solid maiden form on synthetics last year. She disappointed on return at the Curragh but drops back to 6f and could bounce back.

Elusive Duke had a good debut last year but has been below that since. He didn’t get much of a chance from a poor draw last time and now returns to 6f. Not dismissed entirely, but he needs to find more.

Bearwithus and Ellomate both arrive with form questions. The former has been well beaten in her last two starts, while the latter returns from a long layoff for a new yard and hasn’t shown much to date.

3. Notes on Form and Market

Red Veil is off a 322-day break and makes her handicap debut. Market strength would be notable given her trainer’s strike rate with similar types.

Misappropriation is another to watch in the betting. She’s dropped back in trip and hails from a red-hot yard.

Ellomate returns after 245 days and has changed stables. Any support would be surprising but informative.

Bearwithus has run modestly since returning and would need to improve considerably.

4. Each-Way Angles

With 9 runners, each-way terms apply (three places). Hugo’s Girl is a fair each-way option based on consistency. Send Harry, if getting the lead, also appeals as a possible frame contender at a price.

5. Private Tissue Estimate

Gazelle D’Or – 5/2

No Return – 7/2

Hugo’s Girl – 5/1

Send Harry – 8/1

Red Veil – 9/1

Elusive Duke – 12/1

Misappropriation – 14/1

Bearwithus – 20/1

Ellomate – 33/1

Summary

Gazelle D’Or holds strong form claims and wasn’t seen to best effect last time. No Return is a key pace player and should go well if allowed to dictate. Hugo’s Girl is consistent and capable of getting involved again, while Send Harry could be an outsider to keep on side if the pace sets up just right.
