1. Race Conditions & Pace Angle
This is a Listed contest for 2-year-olds over the minimum trip of 5f10y at Sandown. The going is officially good, good to firm in places, and the pace forecast is even. There’s no significant draw bias noted. The pace is expected to suit most profiles, but the even gallop could favour a finishing type like Clear Force, rather than one-paced sorts such as Sayidah Hard Spun.

2. Leading Contenders and Profiles
First Legion made a striking debut impression at York, showing a sharp turn of foot to score over six furlongs. Despite greenness, he won with something in hand and is expected to cope with the drop back to five. He represents a yard with a good record in this race and looks a colt with pattern-level potential.
Clear Force won comfortably at Ripon last time out, quickening smartly off even fractions to put distance between himself and the field. His form has worked out and he’s trained by Karl Burke, who’s won this race twice in the past decade. He sets a solid standard on what we’ve seen and will be suited by the track’s climb to the line.
Sayidah Hard Spun was beaten at Ascot on debut but won with authority next time on the AW at Kempton, travelling strongly and asserting quickly. She remains with potential but may find the stiffer 5f here more challenging against more battle-hardened rivals.
Kamakameleon is improving with racing, shedding his maiden tag at Doncaster after a promising debut. He showed a professional attitude and is bred to progress. The form of his win is solid but this is a sharp step up in class.
Eskimo Pie came close at Newmarket last time, showing good tactical speed and only just failing to see off the winner. She will improve and her yard has a knack with sharp juveniles, but she may need to sharpen up again to match the top two on bare form.
Anthelia is already a dual winner and has shown tenacity in both successes. She may be slightly vulnerable to more progressive types now but has race fitness and experience on her side. Conditions suit and she’s likely to give her running.
Alkuwarrior has shown speed but was well held at Bath and Newmarket and looks outclassed here.

3. Each-Way and Market Watch
There are only seven runners, so each-way terms apply only to the first two. That said, Kamakameleon and Eskimo Pie could attract each-way interest at bigger prices given their profiles. Watch the market closely for confidence behind Anthelia, who is already a dual winner, and Sayidah Hard Spun, stepping into Listed company off a win.

4. Private Tissue Estimate
First Legion – 2/1
Clear Force – 3/1
Sayidah Hard Spun – 5/1
Kamakameleon – 7/1
Eskimo Pie – 8/1
Anthelia – 10/1
Alkuwarrior – 66/1

Summary
First Legion impressed on debut and is the one to beat if building on that performance. Clear Force is a powerful closer from a yard with a strong Sandown record and looks the main threat. Sayidah Hard Spun, Kamakameleon, and Eskimo Pie all have scope to improve further and should be monitored for market support in a deep early-season Listed contest.
