Race Conditions & Key Angles

Pace Forecast: Strong

Draw Bias: Favours low

Pace Bias: Prominent racers generally go well here, even with the strong early gallop forecast. Those reliant on a hold-up ride could find things unfolding against them.

Strongest Contenders

KISDON FORCE (Draw 11, Tuer/Stammers) – 96 rating
Lightly raced and returns off 215 days, but her novice win at Newcastle (slow surface) was tidy and the mark of 77 looks workable. Pedigree and running style suggest there’s more to come over this trip. Despite the break, she rates the most intriguing improver here. Trainer’s profit angle when fresh adds weight to the case.

KINGDOM OF TIME (Draw 5, Watson/Morris) – 90 rating
Four-time runner-up already in 2025 including over C&D. Blinkers seemed to sharpen him up at Yarmouth when just collared late. Still seeking a breakthrough but keeps knocking on the door. Positive pace/draw position and returns to tapeta with a leading shout.

DOWN TO THE KID (Draw 10, Herrington/McHugh) – 91 rating
C&D winner three times in a row this spring and lost nothing in defeat when midfield at Kempton latest. Could be vulnerable now off a career-high mark but is a course specialist with early pace in his favour.

RICH RHYTHM (Draw 1, Bethell/Rawlinson) – 91 rating
Progressive this spring with a 2-from-3 record including a strong finish to win at Chelmsford latest. Likes the surface and nicely drawn to stalk the speed. Trainer stats are notably positive when running a single horse at a meeting.

Main Dangers & Others to Note

AL RUFAA (Draw 6, Kubler/Hogan) – 94 rating
Now 8 years old and inconsistent but ran some good races on AW last autumn and drops into calmer waters here. Often keen and can miss the break, so wide trip and race set-up may not favour him.

KING OF FURY (Draw 2, Dods/Edmunds) – 90 rating
Scored over C&D on reappearance after switching yards but was tailed off at Thirsk. That may be forgivable as he hung badly and now back on a surface that suits.

KING OF ITHACA (Draw 8, Tate/Hornby) – 91 rating
Southwell winner in February and often gives his running here. Not the most consistent, but no surprise if he bounced back from a couple of quieter efforts.

GOLDEN PHARAOH & TEN COMMITMENTS – both have had chances but are struggling for form and look opposable on current evidence.

LIVIO MILO – well beaten both starts this year and little encouragement in recent form or from the yard.

GIORGIO M – NR

Grant Tuer (Kisdon Force) profitable with runners off breaks

Harriet Bethell (Rich Rhythm) strong stats when sending one runner

Notes

Watch for support or drift on Kisdon Force returning from a break.

Rich Rhythm is in form and has a good draw—market confidence would be notable.

Pace should suit prominent runners – hold-up types may need luck in running.

Course form is a strong angle here: Down To The Kid and King of Ithaca both tick that box.
