Pace & Track Bias:
The pace is forecast to be even, which suits prominent racers, especially at Kilbeggan where forward-going types often fare best. The Timeform pace hint notes this should favour BLUE REED over GIVE HIM A CHANCE, who typically comes from further back. With a field of 18, racing handily but with cover could be ideal.

Strongest Contenders:
GIVE HIM A CHANCE (TFR 112) – Took a heavy fall when still travelling well at Limerick and had run with real promise at Gowran previously. Up in trip now and looks to have more to come off 89. However, with his hold-up style, tactical luck will matter. Prominent in market.
BLUE REED (TFR 111) – Solid placed form in big-field handicaps including second at Punchestown (to Without Exception). Last run at Fairyhouse was underwhelming, but race shape now should suit and is a likely improver on this surface. A front-runner with a good draw/track setup.
NO BIG DEAL (TFR 113) – A J.P. McManus runner who showed some spark two runs back and could improve up in trip. Not consistent but lurking off a fair mark. Lightly raced and now has a clearer profile, so market support would be significant.
LOUP DE TALLANE (TFR 110) – Course winner by 8 lengths here last year off a similar mark. Difficult to predict but is proven at track and trip. Comes off a break but trainer has had horses ready off similar gaps. Jumping errors the concern.
KINBARA HILLS (TFR 108) – Flattered in early betting but was a beaten favourite at Perth last time. Had excuses (made mistake 2 out), but stamina remains unproven, and he folded tamely. Likely to race prominently.
JOHANNA’SJEAN (TFR 104) – Bred to improve with age and trip. Stepped up at Kilbeggan last time when sixth in a mares’ handicap, and shapes as if this sort of distance will suit. Could take another step forward.

Interesting Outsiders:
OUR UNCLE JACK (TFR 103+) – Returning to form when 5th here over slightly shorter. Trainer-jockey combo unexposed. May improve again now sharper.
SILENT DAWN (TFR 110) – Third at Clonmel in March then a solid fifth here. Has a sneaky consistent profile for this grade but finishes weakly under pressure.
RUN FOR COVER (TFR 97) – Trained by Martin Brassil. Best run came when 6th in a similar Punchestown race. Up in trip and needs market support to be considered.
WELCOME ABOARD (TFR 100p) – Was due to make handicap debut today but declared a non-runner. May be one to watch next time.
—
Hold-Up Risk / Pace Clashes:
Give Him A Chance needs cover and pace, which may not fully materialise given the “even” pace projection.
Silent Dawn and Johanna’sjean also finish late and may need splits in the straight.

Each-Way Angle:
Field of 18 means each-way terms (4 places) apply. Blue Reed is solid and tactically well placed. Johanna’sjean is lightly raced and improving. Our Uncle Jack is another live each-way outsider with course experience and shaping better now.

Private Tissue Estimate:
Blue Reed – 9/2
Give Him A Chance – 5/1
No Big Deal – 7/1
Loup De Tallane – 8/1
Kinbara Hills – 10/1
Johanna’sjean – 12/1

Summary:
A wide-open 0–100 with several plausible angles. Blue Reed rates the strongest on current form, tactical suitability, and rating. Give Him A Chance is the exciting improver but his hold-up style may leave him vulnerable if things get messy. No Big Deal is very much a market watch candidate, especially for the J.P. McManus yard. Johanna’sjean and Our Uncle Jack offer each-way value at bigger prices. Keep a close eye on support for lightly exposed runners and drifters off long breaks.
