Race Conditions & Pace/Draw Angles
This is a Class 5 handicap hurdle for mares aged 4+, run over a testing extended 3m2f on good ground. Nine are declared. The pace is forecast to be very weak, and the specific hint from Timeform suggests it will favour those who race prominently. Inchagoill Lady is expected to be better placed than likely hold-up types such as Portobello Girl, Arctic Angel, and Elfride, who may need luck in a race not likely to be run end-to-end.

Contenders, Dangers & Noteworthy Outsiders
Chabadatika – A fair performer in mares’ handicaps, winning at Taunton in November before returning to form with a 2¼L second over a shorter trip here last time. Stays well, and the form has been boosted since. She races prominently and seems to be progressing again. Just 1 lb higher. Timeform adjusted rating: 104. Solid chance.
Portobello Girl – Finally got off the mark last time when staying on strongly over 2m6f at Stratford. That was her first try beyond 2m4f and it suited her well. She looks ready for this trip but may be at a tactical disadvantage if held up again in a steadily-run race. Adjusted rating: 103.
Inchagoill Lady – Has had her issues (multiple PU’s and breathing operations) but won a weak novice at Taunton in April and was not disgraced latest when racing over an inadequate trip. Stays well and will race handy in a race forecast to be run slowly. Adjusted rating: 102.
All Under Control – Ex-pointer and moderate under Rules, but only narrowly beaten by Portobello Girl last time out. She’s worn a tongue tie and cheekpieces the last twice and may benefit from a repeat front-running ride if connections adopt those tactics. Adjusted rating: 102.
Arctic Angel – A lightly raced 5yo who posted a career-best when fourth at Stratford in March. That was followed up with a flat run at Ffos Las but may have come too soon. Still unexposed at staying trips and has shown she can act on soft and heavy ground. Another hold-up type though. Adjusted rating: 102.
My Louise – Dual bumper winner but has yet to transfer that form to hurdles. Well held at Chepstow in a 0–100 last time and needs more despite the application of a tongue tie. Adjusted rating: 100.
Mistletoe – Runner-up at Fontwell in April at 125/1 might flatter her. Well beaten either side of that and makes limited appeal unless market suggests otherwise. Adjusted rating: 99.
Elfride – Poor profile, including a PU on latest start. Tongue tie returns and has bled previously. A possible pace angle if bounced out, but she’s a risk. Adjusted rating: 100.
Share A Moment – Little shown under Rules, long layoff (334 days), and little market strength expected. Trainer Ryan Chapman has no previous record in the race and it’s hard to make a case on form. Adjusted rating: n/a.
Trainer Note:
Richard Phillips has a positive angle here – he’s shown a +£40 level stakes profit with single runners in hurdles. Elfride is his only representative.

Market Watch Advice
Share A Moment returns from a 334-day layoff – keep an eye on the market for unexpected support.
Mistletoe and Elfride would need significant market strength to suggest today is a go.
Arctic Angel was relatively freshened up after a quick turnaround in March and now returns after a 75-day break – worth monitoring.
My Louise has been turned over when short in-running on Betfair and lacks trust under pressure.

Each-Way Angles (9 runners)
If 3 places are paid, Inchagoill Lady and All Under Control look the most appealing each-way options given their stamina, adjusted marks, and likely early track position.

Summary
A modest contest but a few with recent form lines tie in neatly. Chabadatika appeals most on recent evidence and is expected to go close again if reproducing her latest effort. Portobello Girl is improving but may not be ideally suited by a tactical affair. Inchagoill Lady and All Under Control bring stamina and tactical speed and warrant each-way respect in a race short on pace. Market interest around Share A Moment or Elfride would be notable given their trainer stats or returns from absences.
