Pace Forecast: Strong
Specific Angle: Prominent runners are often favoured at this trip at Warwick, but the projected strong gallop may test stamina. Hold-up runners like Red Panda could be disadvantaged, while Byzantium might benefit from an honest pace.

Strongest Contenders
Byzantium (FR) – Adjusted Rating: 114
Paul Nicholls’ runner has been well backed in novice company and shaped as though a win is close prior to falling when still in contention at Plumpton. His latest sixth over shorter was possibly due to being outpaced. This intermediate trip on a strong pace should suit, and the mark of 102 is workable. Wears hood and tongue tie.
Definite Dream (IRE) – Adjusted Rating: 110
Consistent type who placed in five of six completed starts in maiden/novice company. Second here on final 2024 run behind a wide-margin winner. Holds form but may lack the scope of some unexposed sorts. Has finished his races off reliably.

Main Dangers
Realistic Optimism (IRE) – Adjusted Rating: 112
Lightly raced for age and showed promise in Irish bumpers. Has had a wind op and represents the in-form Jamie Snowden yard. Was below form last time but is entitled to come on for that effort after a long absence. Market move would be noteworthy.
Red Panda – Adjusted Rating: 111
Small mare who showed improved form when third here last season, but was well beaten on return at Fakenham. Has a habit of being held up, and with pace forecast to be strong, she may struggle to get into a rhythm.

Interesting Outsiders
Fourtowns (IRE) – Adjusted Rating: 106?
Lightly raced, now with Sarah Humphrey. Runner-up at Uttoxeter last autumn before flopping at Windsor. Flashes tail under pressure and now returns from a break. Had a wind op and tongue tie retained. Trainer has a notable profit with single runners.
Stiletto – Rating Incomplete
Not the most consistent but one of the few in here to have run in staying handicaps. Has failed to complete several times over fences and underperformed on the Flat. Could be dangerous if rediscovering old form, but risky.

Others
Hardy Buck (IRE) – Adjusted Rating: 109
Traded short in-running last time but didn’t finish off. Ex-Irish and low-level form.
Ballymena Boy (IRE) – No Adjusted Rating
Lightly raced under Rules. Well held in all starts. Connections have one runner on the card – market support would be a tip-off.
Rockbeare (IRE) – Adjusted Rating: 106
First sign of ability when fifth at Newton Abbot last time. Still early days but form not strong.

Summary
This is a winnable Class 5 event lacking a standout. Byzantium rates highest on adjusted figures and has a race shape to suit. Definite Dream is reliable and should run his race, while Realistic Optimism appeals on profile and could be the one to improve. Red Panda needs to settle better and may be caught out by the tempo. Fourtowns and Stiletto are quirky but capable on their day – market interest would be significant. Each-way betting is in play with 9 declared.
