Pace/Draw Analysis:
The pace forecast is very strong, with multiple prominent racers or habitual front-runners declared – including Golden Mind, Partisan Hero, Legal Reform, and Local Hero. These types could set a relentless gallop which may bring the closers into play late. However, Epsom’s downhill run into the straight still tends to favour those not coming from too far off the pace. Draw bias is officially neutral, but extreme high numbers are generally best avoided at this trip.

Key Contenders & Notable Runners:
RHOSCOLYN (David O’Meara) [Rating: 113]
Dual winner of this race (2021, 2024) and looks to be peaking again. Sixth at Chester after being held up too far off a slow pace. Comes alive at Epsom and thrives when the race is strongly run. Strong finisher but will need gaps late.
Timeform: “Shaped as though coming to the boil at the right time.”
O’Meara has won this race twice in the last six years.
MISS INFORMATION (Andrew Balding) [110]
Reliable and progressive filly. Won well at Newmarket last time and previously at this course. Has the tactical speed to hold a prominent position. Solid profile with pace versatility. Balding remains in hot form.
Form figures: 5-0-5-1-1.
PARTISAN HERO (David Loughnane) [109]
Running consistently well this year and posted a strong second at Chester latest. Usually makes the running and may be caught up in the early burn-up here. Still well handicapped on recent efforts and has SDS booked.
Interesting if avoiding a speed duel.
DARKNESS (David O’Meara) [112]
Returned to form with a win at Thirsk over this trip last time. Stablemate to Rhoscolyn and may be ridden a touch closer to the pace. Handles fast ground and arrives in good heart.
ALZAHIR (Jennie Candlish) [111]
Caught the eye at York last time when left poorly placed. Strong pace would suit, though usually held up – so likely to need some luck in running. Suited by today’s setup but has never run at Epsom.
STANAGE (M&D Easterby) [111]
Winner at Doncaster in March. Fair sixth at York latest in strong race behind Old Cock. Holds form on good ground and 7f looks his ideal trip. Another who can benefit from a collapse in the lead.
MAJESTIC WAVE (Simon Dow) [109]
3yo open-age handicap debutant. Lightly raced and shapes like there’s more to come. Best watched in the market, particularly as this is only his sixth start and he’s being asked a question here. Ran in snatches last time – cheekpieces now tried.
LEGAL REFORM (Michael Herrington) [110]
In excellent AW form earlier in the year. Not dismissed off current mark, but best form is on synthetics and stamina might be stretched by strong early gallop here.

Ratings (Out of 10):
Rhoscolyn – 8.5/10 – Suited by conditions, proven in race, just needs breaks.
Miss Information – 8/10 – Dependable and tactically versatile.
Darkness – 7.5/10 – Back in form, but stablemate has stronger course profile.
Partisan Hero – 7.5/10 – In form, but drawn into pace war.
Alzahir – 7.5/10 – Could pounce late if things fall right.
Stanage – 7/10 – Consistent, each-way claims.
Majestic Wave – 6.5/10 – Unexposed, worth market check.
Legal Reform – 6/10 – Capable but turf form a concern.
Samuel Colt – 5.5/10 – Off 184 days; Timeform rating suspect (105?).
Local Hero – 5.5/10 – Likely burnt off early here.
Persuasion – 5/10 – Below form twice recently.
Golden Mind – 4.5/10 – Best on AW and form tailed off.
Marlay Park – 4.5/10 – Often slowly away, strong pace might not help.
Note: Keep a close eye on market signals for Majestic Wave, Samuel Colt, and Legal Reform – all returning from 90+ day absences or profile conditions that invite scrutiny.

Summary:
Rhoscolyn bids for a third win in this contest and arrives at the right time off a promising Chester run. A searing pace could tee things up for him if he gets the splits. Miss Information is very reliable and tactically sound, while Darkness looks dangerous if his Thirsk form holds up. Partisan Hero continues to improve but may be softened up early. Each-way players should give long looks to Alzahir and Stanage, while Majestic Wave warrants market watching on just his second run in a handicap.
Watch for any significant market moves on those off breaks (Especially Samuel Colt) or returning quickly from recent efforts.
17:10 EPSOM DOWNS – DEBENHAMS HANDICAP (Class 2, 0–100) – 7f 3y – 3yo+ – Turf (Good, Good to Soft in places)
