Race Conditions & Pace/Draw Analysis
This is a 2-year-old selling stakes contest over the minimum 5 furlongs. The declared ground is soft and the field size is 8, so full each-way terms apply. There’s no strong draw bias noted and the pace forecast is even, which suggests the race should be run at a fair gallop with no particular advantage expected for front-runners or closers. Notably, Timeform’s pace hint suggests the shape will suit Very Mindful more than the potentially disadvantaged Canyouhearthedrums.

Contenders, Dangers & Outsiders
CANYOUHEARTHEDRUMS (82 adj): Brings the strongest adjusted rating and has the standout form, having finished runner-up at Bath in April in similar grade. She’s since disappointed in stronger class 2 maidens but drops significantly in grade here. Timeform notes she’s “the one to beat”. She tends to race handily but with an even pace predicted, may need things to fall right tactically.
VERY MINDFUL (81 adj): Debut second at Kempton reads well in this context and would give him major claims if repeating that. He was disappointing last time at Wolverhampton but first-time cheekpieces were applied there and are now left off. Timeform’s pace hint suggests the even tempo will suit, and Hollie Doyle is booked, which is notable. Needs a bounce-back but is well placed in this grade.
DINAMO (66 adj): Took a notable step forward when second in a Beverley claimer last time and represents a stable in excellent form. That recent effort brings him into this conversation as a main danger, particularly given expected further improvement. Another who races close to the pace and should be well positioned.
MISS APRES (66 adj): Well-related and showed promise on debut at Redcar, finishing fourth. That was a respectable first outing and the Alice Haynes yard can get juveniles rolling early. Interesting second-start profile type to monitor in the market. Potential improver.
COUL JANE (72 adj): A big step up at Kempton latest when tried with positive tactics. Trainer David Evans has won this race twice in the past 8 years and has a noted record when sending just one to a meeting. Could be primed to run above her rating again.
SAYIDAH POETS (72 adj): Showed some promise at Goodwood in May before flopping at Doncaster. Connections (Richard Hughes/Billy Loughnane) are capable and the pedigree is reasonable. Not entirely dismissed, but needs to show more than in two of three outings so far.
A’ALI G (65 adj): Unseated on debut and still green at Thirsk when sixth last time. Since gelded. Clearly has ability but inexperience is a concern. Faces more seasoned types here and needs a step forward mentally and physically.
AMAKHALA (64 adj): Trainer is ice cold and although the filly did show late headway at Wolverhampton, she still comes out with the lowest adjusted figure. Others more appealing on profile and trainer trend.

Market Watch
Market moves should be noted carefully for Very Mindful, Miss Apres, and A’ali G – all of whom make their second career start and could improve considerably. No runners are returning from a layoff of 90+ days. Coul Jane is worth monitoring given trainer stats (Evans profitable at flat meetings and with past winners in this race).
—
Each-Way Angles (8 runners)
With full place terms, Dinamo and Miss Apres look each-way viable against the favourite. Both are open to improvement and have less to prove than some rivals.

Private Tissue (100% tissue estimate)
Canyouhearthedrums – 5/2
Very Mindful – 9/2
Dinamo – 11/2
Miss Apres – 6/1
Coul Jane – 7/1
Sayidah Poets – 9/1
A’ali G – 14/1
Amakhala – 25/1

Summary
Canyouhearthedrums brings the clearest form edge and the drop into selling company looks an intentional move to get a win. Very Mindful can go well if rediscovering his Kempton debut, while Dinamo and Miss Apres are open to progress and warrant each-way interest. Coul Jane carries longshot potential given trainer history. Market support for second-time starters will be informative.
