Pace Forecast: Very Weak
Draw Bias: N/A
Pace/Draw Angles:
This is forecast to be a slowly run race, which is significant at this trip on this round track. Prominent racers don’t usually dominate over this Catterick distance, but with such a weak pace expected, those that can take up a handy position early may hold an edge. Hold-up horses risk becoming hostage to fortune and may require gaps to appear late.

Contender Analysis
Strongest Contenders:
TIME TELLS ALL (IRE) – [Rating: 84]
Well-handicapped based on last season’s Chester and Nottingham runs (placed off similar marks), and shaped nicely for much of the race at Carlisle last time before stamina gave way over an extended trip. Back down to 1½m looks positive. Tends to be ridden forward, which may suit the modest early gallop. One to watch closely for market strength.
STELLARMASTERPIECE (FR) – [Rating: 81]
Course winner who ran with credit here over further last time. Has held her form well this season and is well suited by this distance. A return to 12f looks ideal. May need a little cover mid-race but shouldn’t be too far back. No reason to doubt her consistency here.
LAUDABLE – [Rating: 82]
Better on second start back this season and shaped well over a shorter trip at Ayr. Return to 12f suits. Lightly raced over this distance and has won here before. Could be poorly positioned if they crawl early, though, and doesn’t always find much under pressure.
Main Dangers:
RIBBLE RIVER (IRE) – [Rating: 80]
Has fitness edge now after a respectable comeback run. Capable at this trip and went close in a Class 4 at Pontefract earlier in the spring. May need some cover but has winning form at this level. Could go forward if pace is lacking.
SELWAN (IRE) – [Rating: 81]
Well treated on old form and bounced back at Carlisle last time when third. Has won off higher and shaped as if a return to this trip would suit. Respected if he can repeat that effort but can find trouble when held up.
Interesting Outsider:
PAPER DOLL (IRE) – [Rating: 83]
Last seen 297 days ago but produced a career-best when second at Tramore last August. Lightly raced and now with a Northern trainer in form. Has won in France-bred staying pedigrees, and that final 2024 effort reads well. Watch for market signals—on handicap debut for new yard.

Runner Ratings out of 10
No. Horse Rating (/10) Note
1 TITAINIUM 6 Strong early pace, but can over-race; inconsistent.
2 CAVALLO PAZZO (IRE) 4 Poor recent record; hold-up type with stamina doubts.
3 RIBBLE RIVER (IRE) 7 Back to form now, stays well, solid chance.
4 PRINCE ACHILLE 5 Out of sorts lately; hard to fancy on current form.
5 SELWAN (IRE) 7 Well treated, can run well if pace unfolds favourably.
6 TIME TELLS ALL (IRE) 8 Returns to best trip; well weighted; leading claims.
7 PAPER DOLL (IRE) 7 Off 297 days, interesting Irish import; market watch.
8 STELLARMASTERPIECE (FR) 8 In form; CD winner; solid and reliable.
9 LAUDABLE 6 Improved run latest, but needs pace to lift him home.
Trainer Watch:
No previous winners of this race on record. Market worth monitoring closely for Tristan Davidson’s pair (Laudable and Paper Doll), especially the latter having first start for yard.
Layoff Notes:
Paper Doll (297 days) – Handicap debut for new stable; needs monitoring.
Cavallo Pazzo (43 days) – Profile suggests he’s likely to be outpaced early and needs strong late pace.
—
Each-Way Angles (9 runners):
PAPER DOLL – Unexposed at the trip, ran a promising final 2024 race, and now switches to a stable who can get one ready off a break.
SELWAN – Proven at the trip, latest third was his best in a while, and returns under Hollie Doyle with a live chance if things fall right.

Summary
This is a low-grade handicap with little guaranteed pace and several hold-up types. Time Tells All is expected to be ridden prominently and should benefit from the drop in trip after shaping well at Carlisle. Stellarmasterpiece remains in form and returns to her optimum distance, while Selwan and Paper Doll are both interesting each-way shouts, the latter especially as a lightly-raced Irish import on handicap debut. Keep an eye on the market, particularly for returning types like Paper Doll and in-form stayers dropping back from inadequate trips.
