Pace/Draw Angle: A strong early gallop is forecast, and on Chester’s tight, turning 6f course, that typically favours low-drawn horses who can either lead or track the pace. A low berth remains a historical advantage here, especially when the ground rides on the easy side.

Strongest Contenders
HUNDRED CAPS (TFR: 86) – Won on return from a 5-month break at Beverley (5f, good to firm) and shaped as if there was more to come. Green in the run, edged left, but still won comfortably. Up 4lb, but Timeform sees more improvement to come. Best form at 5f but worth this step up given stamina in pedigree. Upwardly mobile, and market support would reinforce that today is a “go” day.
ARABIAN COBRA (TFR: 84) – Gutsy winner last week at Thirsk and gets in under a 6lb penalty (effectively 78). Prominent racer who stays this trip strongly. A lively type who often races keenly, but Billy Loughnane gets on well with him. Quick return suits, but the wide draw (stall 11) is a clear concern at Chester.
MISS HATHAWAY (TFR: 87) – Third to Arabian Cobra at Thirsk, posted a career-best figure and looked unlucky after covering more ground wide. Drawn better here (stall 5), and Tim Easterby’s yard has brought these types on rapidly in June before. Travels well, close-up racer who should be well suited to track and trip.
DREAM OUT LOUD (TFR: 88) – Unexposed, making just his sixth career start. Ran with credit on turf debut at Windsor from off the pace and looked the type to do better on sharper tracks. Balding has a strong record at Chester (20% strike rate) and PJ McDonald booked. One of the more interesting types if handling the bends.

Main Dangers & Interesting Outsiders
ANDALPROFIT (TFR: 89) – Pulled clear to win a Newcastle handicap in April and wasn’t beaten far at Haydock last time in a stronger field. Strong adjusted figure makes him one to take seriously. Does his best work late, but from stall 6 he may need luck turning in – hold-up types need the gaps at Chester.
KAMEKIST (TFR: 85) – Progressive profile in spring, close third at Haydock last time. Best efforts over this trip. Drawn widest of all (stall 13), which is rarely a winning position over this C&D. Needs a strong pace and luck, but not out of it if things fall his way.
TOP JUGGLER (TFR: 83) – Better than the bare form of his comeback run suggests, having been gelded and had a wind-op over the winter. Yard has a good record bringing horses forward on second starts. Backable if the market speaks.
ROCK N ROLL ROCKET (TFR: 85) – Took advantage of a strong early pace at Wolverhampton last time but has been inconsistent overall. Drawn in 1, which is a positive, and if he breaks alertly could take advantage of his position. A bit more exposed than most here.
TRUST SERGEI (TFR: 85) – Let down by finishing effort last time but had been progressive before that. Front-runner, and stall 7 isn’t the worst. A potential rebounder if ridden with a bit more patience.

Summary
A well-contested 3yo sprint handicap with strong pace and draw dynamics. Hundred Caps is going the right way and looks capable of progressing past this mark, while Miss Hathaway is ideally drawn and comes off a good effort behind a next-time-out winner. Dream Out Loud is unexposed and hails from a yard with strong local stats. Look for movement in the market for post-wind-op types like Top Juggler, and monitor late drifters from wide draws like Arabian Cobra.
