15:00 York – British EBF Supporting Racing With Pride Fillies’ Handicap (Class 2) | 6f | 3yo+ | 0–100 | Good to Firm (Good in places) | 13 declared

·

1. Race Conditions, Draw & Pace Angles

This is a competitive Class 2 fillies’ handicap over 6f on quick ground. York’s straight sprint track has a low draw bias, which becomes more influential when the pace is strong—as it’s forecast to be here. Prominent racers generally fare well on this track, although Timeform flags suggest a few closers like Mostar Dreams may benefit from the expected gallop.

2. Contenders, Dangers & Trends

PELEAN (TFR: 106p)

Gosden-trained 3yo making handicap debut. Took a Yarmouth novice impressively last time in a race that has worked out well, and her pedigree points to more to come. Running style is prominent, which suits this track/draw combo. Trainer has a 17% strike rate with handicap debutants – a strong profile. Low draw (stall 1) enhances claims.

EASY PEELER (TFR: 108p, Horse in Focus)

Improved again when third at Haydock on seasonal return and was unlucky not to finish closer after meeting trouble. Lightly raced and shapes as though she’s better than her current mark. From a sprinting family, drawn low, and has a sharp turn of foot. Very much one for the shortlist, especially if market stays solid.

RANEENN (TFR: 105)

Won well at Doncaster when just getting the better of Mostar Dreams. That form has been boosted, and she still looks fairly treated on a line through that. Haggas runners usually respected here, though stall 4 may need a little navigating early. Proven over trip and ground.

MOSTAR DREAMS (TFR: 104)

In-form and should appreciate the return to a sharp 6f after weakening late over further at Haydock. Travelled strongly that day and holds form with Raneenn from Doncaster. Well drawn to tuck in behind the pace. Could benefit from a tow into the race and rates a danger if they go too hard early.

ROGUE SENSATION (TFR: 100)

Shaped well on return in a listed race at Haydock and makes handicap debut off 98. Fair to assume she’ll come on for that. Edward Bethell’s yard in flying form, and she’s well berthed to sit close up. Needs to prove she can handle this mark but the class angle is respected.

LADY OF ANDROS (TFR: 102)

Improved when second at Chester last time and was just collared late. Lightly raced and drawn wide here but has form that suggests a strongly run 6f may suit. One of the less exposed 3yos with each-way credentials if the pace collapses.

TROPICAL ISLAND (TFR: 102)

Better than she showed at Hamilton last time. Had looked well treated at Ripon before that and tends to race off the pace. Timeform notes she has a habit of trading much shorter in-running. Draw is no issue; market confidence would boost claims.

3. Runner Ratings out of 10 (form, profile, going, draw & suitability)

Horse Rating (/10) Notes

Pelean 9 Well-treated, ideal draw, Gosden debutant
Easy Peeler 9 Still improving, unlucky last time, low drawn
Raneenn 8.5 Improving, beat a next-time-out winner, strong trainer
Mostar Dreams 8 Strong traveller, best with pace to aim at
Rogue Sensation 7.5 Classy effort in listed race, open to progress
Lady Of Andros 7 Just behind in a solid Chester race, solid profile
Tropical Island 6.5 Can bounce back, interesting run-style with this pace
Glamour Show 6 Solid but vulnerable late on at this level
Harvanna 6 Could improve again but needs to step forward sharply
Powdering 5.5 Reliable, but others open to more improvement
Greydreambeliever 5 Early promise faded, headgear on
Ormolulu 4.5 Regressing, and recent turf efforts lacking spark
Queen’s Guard 3.5 Long layoff and change of yard, risky

4. Each-Way Angles (13 runners)

With a full field and competitive prices, strong each-way candidates include:

Mostar Dreams – tactically versatile, good course form, proven stamina edge.

Lady Of Andros – latest form ties in with key rivals and looks progressive.

Tropical Island – inconsistent but could be a back-to-lay if dropped in as expected.

5. Private Tissue (Based on adjusted TFRs, trends & profile)

Horse Tissue Price

Easy Peeler 4/1
Pelean 9/2
Raneenn 5/1
Mostar Dreams 7/1
Rogue Sensation 8/1
Lady Of Andros 10/1
Tropical Island 14/1
Harvanna 16/1
Glamour Show 20/1
Powdering 20/1
Greydreambeliever 33/1
Ormolulu 40/1
Queen’s Guard 66/1

Market Watch Advice:

Easy Peeler & Pelean – support would suggest stable confidence for two unexposed improvers.

Tropical Island – if backed, could signal intent for a tactical hold-up ride.

Greydreambeliever – if staying weak in market, likely opposable again.

6. Summary

This is a high-quality sprint where Easy Peeler and Pelean bring significant upside. Both are lightly raced 3yos with scope, strong adjusted figures, and are well drawn to race close to the action. Raneenn beat a strong field last time and still looks on the up. Mostar Dreams and Lady Of Andros appeal most of the rest on consistency and pace shape. A fast-run race should produce a truly run contest, and the 3yo improvers look best placed to capitalise.
