. Race Conditions, Pace & Tactical Considerations

A straight mile for 3-y-o fillies on good to firm ground. Prominent racers are typically favoured on this track and trip, particularly when pace is honest. Timeform forecasts an even pace, though the presence of front-runners like Eazy On The Eye and Primrose Path could add early tempo.

Draw bias is negligible in such small fields on the straight course, and the outcome will likely be shaped more by tactical speed and positioning than stall location.

2. Leading Contenders, Dangers & Noteworthy Outsiders

Chiringita (TFR 81p)
Lightly raced filly who shaped with promise on seasonal return when third at Yarmouth. That was a steadily run race, and she wasn’t knocked about. Up in trip now for her handicap debut, which looks a suitable progression. Pedigree points to further improvement over a mile. Respected as a potential improver.

She’s The Duchess (TFR 91)
Consistent and already proven in three handicaps. Might have found Newmarket’s undulations against her last time. Has solid sectionals at 6f/7f and looks ready for the stiff finish here. Well drawn to sit handy and should be suited by race conditions. George Boughey has done well in this bracket.

Previse (TFR 88)
Well-bred and left her debut behind when springing a surprise at Haydock. The sectionals there were efficient, and she stayed on well late, suggesting this trip is ideal. Trainer Harry Charlton excels with progressive fillies in handicaps. Second start in this sphere could bring further improvement.

Soho Square (TFR 83p)
Made a winning return at Newcastle (AW) off an 8-month break, with a nice turn of foot. This is her turf debut, and while she’s bred to handle it, her inexperience in larger-field handicaps is a minor concern. The win last time came despite trading twice her SP in-play, suggesting there’s a bit more than the bare margin.

Cradle of Love (TFR 83)
Returned to form last time when narrowly denied at Haydock. Now partnered by Ryan Moore, which is a notable booking. Still a maiden and temperament is an issue, with previous form showing quirks. May be best caught fresh and may not be straightforward under pressure.

Primrose Path (TFR 87)
Ended her juvenile campaign on a high, winning at Lingfield. However, she was well held on seasonal return and has something to prove. Will likely go forward, but if she pulls again, she risks fading out late.

British Blue (TFR 86)
Sole win came on debut at Kempton. More recent turf efforts haven’t been as compelling, though she shaped better last time at Goodwood when prominent for a long way. Hannon has a good record in this race type, but she’s still a bit of an unknown quantity at the trip.

Eazy On The Eye (TFR 81)
Dual AW winner at Wolverhampton but very little impact since switched to turf handicaps. Now dropped in class slightly but hasn’t shown enough this season to warrant serious support unless significantly backed.

3. Runner Ratings out of 10

Horse Score Justification

She’s The Duchess 8/10 Proven, reliable, tactically suited, solid rating and yard in form
Chiringita 8/10 Promising profile, unexposed, handicap debut with scope to improve
Previse 7.5/10 Progressive, nicely bred, one win from two but lacks handicap experience
Soho Square 7/10 Off the mark latest, unexposed, but new to turf and may need more experience
Cradle of Love 6.5/10 Has ability but attitude and headgear use suggest caution
Primrose Path 6/10 Front-runner with some ability, but not settled well this season
British Blue 6/10 Slightly better last time but form inconsistent and stamina not assured
Eazy On The Eye 5/10 Lacks turf form, hard to support on recent evidence

4. Each-Way Angle

With 8 runners, each-way terms apply.
Chiringita rates as a fair each-way play at around 6/1+. She has potential upside on handicap debut, is bred to stay the trip, and shaped like she’d improve for it on return.

5. Private Tissue (Fair Odds)

She’s The Duchess – 3/1

Chiringita – 4/1

Previse – 9/2

Soho Square – 6/1

Cradle of Love – 8/1

Primrose Path – 12/1

British Blue – 14/1

Eazy On The Eye – 25/1

6. Summary

This looks a competitive fillies’ handicap with a mix of exposed runners and lightly raced improvers. She’s The Duchess brings the strongest current handicap form and should go close if ridden positively. Chiringita and Previse are the more progressive types who could take a step forward, while Soho Square is interesting but needs to confirm her turf aptitude.

Market signals will be important—notably for Previse (second start after surprise maiden win) and Chiringita (handicap debut). A notable drift on Cradle of Love would raise questions about attitude.

The pace should be honest, and those holding a handy position will likely be best placed to strike in the final furlong.
