Race Conditions & Tactical Overview:
A 3-mile handicap hurdle featuring 8 runners, all aged 4 or older. The going is good and the race is run on a right-handed track with 12 hurdles to be jumped. The distance includes a standard rails adjustment. As a race shape, it lacks an abundance of natural pace-setters; the likely tempo appears even to steady. Shadow In The Sky and Big Bee Hive have gone forward in the past and may dispute it early, with several usual midfield-to-held-up types behind. There is no meaningful draw bias to consider here given the course layout over hurdles.

Contenders, Dangers & Outsiders – Ratings Foundation Review:
Main Contenders:
Larkfield Lusive – TF Adj Rtg: 85
Improving profile. Came into his own when stepped up in trip, winning over a similar distance last time at Huntingdon. Runner-up had franked the form since. Lightly raced at staying trips and appears to handle good ground well. Trainer Miss Laura Morgan won this race in 2021 (The Wild Westerner). Travels comfortably and finishes strongly—tactically versatile. Short turnaround (7 days) but arrives in form. Progressive type.
Shadows In The Sky – TF Adj Rtg: 112
Strong recent form (121) since cheekpieces added. Carries top weight but is well-in based on last two runs. Has made the running to good effect, including at Worcester last time. Trainer J P Owen’s runners often go well when kept fresh, but this one is returning just 11 days later. Has won over C&D and proven at the trip. Proven and in-form. Any market weakness could reflect bounce/recovery concerns.
Moro Rock – TF Adj Rtg: 79
Sporadic form but bounced back to form last time with a solid second at Southwell. Track should suit, though the trip is close to his stamina limit. Tends to race handily and finds off the bridle. Reliable on good ground. Still 1lb above his last winning mark. Risky to rely on consistency-wise. Proven but not progressive.

Interesting Outsiders:
Big Bee Hive – TF Adj Rtg: 93
Won modestly at Hexham two runs back, but had no answer off higher mark at Stratford after. Tends to race up with the pace. Jockey Jonathan England is a positive booking for this yard. Has the size and scope to defy this sort of mark on going/trip combination. More exposed than some. Neutral profile – could place if others underperform.
Foxs Socks – TF Adj Rtg: 79
Ten-year-old who has placed twice in his last three starts, shaping like a dour stayer. May get outpaced mid-race but stays on late. Not obviously well handicapped but William Maggs’ claim takes weight off. Hold-up type – needs pace to collapse. Watch for late headway.
Zoffalee – TF Adj Rtg: 89
Stablemate of Foxs Socks. Wasn’t beaten far at Hexham in a stronger race. Tricky to weigh up but has won from higher marks in the past. Needs things to fall right. Tends to race mid-pack. No standout trends in favour but not a no-hoper. Profile suggests place claims if bouncing back.
Rebel Intentions – TF Adj Rtg: 96
Lightly raced this year. Improved when fourth last time at Uttoxeter, shaping as though return to 3m would suit. Had wind surgery prior to that, and fitness looked on the up. Trainer not especially prolific, but runner is unexposed at the trip. Interesting outsider. Second run back from a break – market check essential.
Royal Rhythm – TF Adj Rtg: 94
Fell when still competitive at Hexham in May; ran respectably last time. Can travel smoothly but has a weak finish. Tends to be held up – tactically at risk here. Stable has had a few go close at this level recently. Risky on temperament – needs strong pace and clear run.

Trainer Trend Watch:
Miss Laura Morgan – won this in 2021 and has one of the key runners in Larkfield Lusive.
No other trainers with recent winners in this race, though Jonjo O’Neill has a runner of some interest in Royal Rhythm, whose profile is moderate.

Runner Ratings (Out of 10 – Based on Suitability, Form & Tactical Fit):
Larkfield Lusive – 8.5/10 (Progressive, tactically sound, suited by trip)
Shadows In The Sky – 8/10 (Proven form, topweight a challenge, short turnaround)
Moro Rock – 7/10 (Stays, but patchy profile and stamina slight concern)
Big Bee Hive – 6.5/10 (One-paced but conditions OK, lacks upside)
Foxs Socks – 5.5/10 (Old-timer, strong stayer, but tactically vulnerable)
Zoffalee – 5/10 (Flat recent efforts, mildly interesting if bouncing back)
Rebel Intentions – 6/10 (Second start back, stamina angle, monitor market)
Royal Rhythm – 4.5/10 (Unreliable closer, needs things to fall right)
—
Each-Way Angles (8 runners):
Big Bee Hive and Rebel Intentions appeal as speculative each-way plays at double-figure prices, particularly if market support comes late for either.
Both have form hints that suggest a frame effort isn’t out of the question.
—
Private Tissue (Fair Odds Estimate):
Larkfield Lusive – 3/1
Shadows In The Sky – 3/1
Moro Rock – 9/2
Big Bee Hive – 7/1
Rebel Intentions – 10/1
Zoffalee – 12/1
Foxs Socks – 14/1
Royal Rhythm – 14/1
—
Summary:
A tightly matched low-grade staying handicap, with much depending on tactical setup and how Shadows In The Sky handles a relatively quick turnaround. Larkfield Lusive is the improver and looks tactically versatile with upside. Moro Rock will be popular but is hard to fully trust at the trip. Rebel Intentions is one to keep an eye on for market support on his second start after wind surgery.
—
Smart Play (Professional Punter View):
Win bet: Larkfield Lusive – arrives in form, stays well, progressive and from a yard that targets this meeting.
Each-way saver: Rebel Intentions – unexposed at the trip, fitter now, interesting profile if support arrives.
2:40 Market Rasen – Port Of Immingham Handicap Hurdle (Class 5, 3m, 4yo+, Good, 8 runners)
