Contender Analysis
GLOBAL EFFORT (TFR 62) – A consistent sort who ran a solid fourth in a better grade at Wolverhampton last time. Has form on turf and usually travels kindly, suggesting suitability to this track. Drops into classified company with strong credentials and looks well placed from stall 11 despite the slight draw concern. Trainer Phil McEntee has placed this one shrewdly.
THE COLA BRASIL (TFR 59) – Veteran performer who ran a strong second in an amateurs’ event at Hamilton last time, shaping well in a visor. Stays this trip, goes on fast ground, and is well drawn in stall 5. Callum Shepherd rides; he has a strong record on favourites for the stable. Remains reliable at this level and handles quick reappearances well.
CASTELLINA (TFR 61) – Lightly raced 3yo filly with some upside. Ran a creditable third at Yarmouth latest over 7f and shapes as though a strong 6f suits. Still improving and has the benefit of the 3yo allowance. James Fanshawe’s yard in excellent form and this could be a targeted opportunity. Risks include being slowly away; has a hold-up style that may need some luck.
ROMAN EMPEROR (TFR 61) – Tricky type who tends to miss the break and races in rear. He showed glimmers of ability when fifth at Newmarket last week. Low draw (stall 4) and quicker return could help, but needs things to fall right. Tends to be risky for win purposes without strong pace to run at.
DUE DATE (TFR 63) – Highest adjusted figure in the race but bombed last time at Lingfield when favourite. Best efforts on AW, but he has handled quick turf before and his low draw (stall 8) is helpful. Watch the market – he’s returning relatively quickly after a flat effort and can be volatile.
ROCK MASTER (TFR 60) – Fair 3yo type who is yet to win, but has been in the mix in similar races. Fourth last time in a Yarmouth handicap suggests he is not far off winning one of these. Has Billy Loughnane up which is a positive. Worth keeping on side at this level.
UNAVAILABLE (TFR 52+) – Typically front runs and has dropped to a workable level. Signs of life when fourth at Brighton and could get loose early from stall 10. Not out of it if allowed a soft lead, though vulnerable in a finish.
WRATH OF HECTOR (TFR 56) – Course and distance winner, but last effort here was underwhelming. Returns quickly and might be sharper this time, though drawn 7 and likely to be held up.
PRADA ON PAROLE (TFR 58) – Below form on stable debut and may need more time to show her best. Previously placed at this trip on AW. Risky.
BLACK FALCON (TFR 54) – Still finding her way as a 3yo, fifth on return but shaped freely. Likely needs a step back in class or more time.
COLLEGE WITCH (TFR ?) – Hasn’t shown anything recently and others have much stronger profiles. Hard to recommend.

Trends and Key Points
Trainer Strike: Callum Shepherd rides for Michael Bell, who has placed sprinters effectively in this class before.
Hold-Up Risks: CASTELLINA, ROMAN EMPEROR, and WRATH OF HECTOR all need cover and pace. The moderate tempo forecast raises concern for these types.
Second-Time Blinkers/Visor: THE COLA BRASIL retains headgear that brought improvement last start.

Summary
This classified stakes is typical of its grade with several modest but in-form runners. GLOBAL EFFORT appeals most given recent consistent performances in better company and looks well treated dropping into this grade. THE COLA BRASIL is another solid contender who responded well to a visor and is well drawn.
CASTELLINA is a 3yo with potential for better and comes from a red-hot stable, but may need luck if held up. ROMAN EMPEROR and ROCK MASTER are dangers on form but come with quirks or tactical risks.
