15:45 Market Rasen – paactfamily.com THE UNSEEN NOVICES’ HANDICAP CHASE (Class 5) – 2m 1f 43y – Good

·

Pace Angles: The race is forecast to be run at a very weak gallop. PROSPECT HOUSE is likely to race prominently and be well positioned early. CONQUER THE BREEZE, a noted hold-up type, risks getting caught in a tactically run contest. This may disadvantage runners who prefer strong gallops or late runs.

Draw Angles (Not applicable – NH chase)

Strongest Contenders:

PROSPECT HOUSE (TFR 103) – Proven course specialist with all 3 wins coming here, including a recent novice chase. Stays well around this trip and the lack of pace should favour his prominent style. Just beaten by a smart sort last time, and looks the most solid.

TRAVELING SOLDIER (TFR 98) – Still a maiden but runner-up on last two chase starts, and trainer-jockey combo (Murphy-Bowen) have an excellent Market Rasen record. May find less than expected under pressure.

CONQUER THE BREEZE (TFR 100x) – Finally broke his maiden at Hexham and continues to run with credit. Usually held up and not entirely fluent, the race shape could work against him here. Still unproven beyond 2m.

Main Danger:

COULDBEAWEAPON (TFR 96) – Shaped as if returning to form last time and could build on that. Trainer does well with chasers at this trip range.

Interesting Outsiders:

LADY’S PRESENT (TFR 97) – Capable of running into a place, but likely better over further. Fell when challenging on chase debut and now back down in trip.

Significant Trends:

All recent winners were 6-9 years old – fits all leading contenders.

Peter Niven’s PROSPECT HOUSE bids for a third Market Rasen win this season – clearly a track specialist.

Trainer Olly Murphy (TRAVELING SOLDIER) and jockey Sean Bowen have strong course strike rates (24% & 25% respectively).

Runners Rated (out of 10):

Horse Suitability Rating (/10) Comments

PROSPECT HOUSE 9 Proven track form, suitable trip, thrives here, prominent runner
TRAVELING SOLDIER 7 Consistent but might lack finishing strength, needs a stamina test
CONQUER THE BREEZE 6 In form, but race shape a concern due to hold-up tactics
COULDBEAWEAPON 6 On the upgrade, fair run last time, could sneak a place
LADY’S PRESENT 5 Wants further, best watched
LORD MAHER 2 Not showing enough over fences, no market support
MAWLOOD 1 Completely out of form, needs a miracle

Private Tissue Estimate:

Prospect House – 15/8

Traveling Soldier – 10/3

Conquer The Breeze – 4/1

Couldbeaweapon – 7/1

Lady’s Present – 10/1

Lord Maher – 25/1

Mawlood – 100/1

Summary:

This slowly run novices’ handicap chase looks to suit PROSPECT HOUSE down to the ground, with his prominent racing style and strong track record putting him in pole position. TRAVELING SOLDIER has the right connections and form, but may prove vulnerable late on again. CONQUER THE BREEZE is improving but faces a tactical setup against his preferred running style.

Smart Play:

Win Bet – PROSPECT HOUSE – Track specialist, strong form, best positioned for race shape.

Each-Way Saver (7 runners) – COULDBEAWEAPON – Signs of revival last time, capable of nicking a place in a weak contest.
