Pace Angles: With a weak overall pace, it’s an advantage to be prominent. MAXIMIZED looks ideally placed near the speed, while ZAVATERI and BRUSSELS could be less well served if held up.

Contender Analysis
Strongest Contenders:
MAXIMIZED (10/10): Unbeaten in two starts, including the Woodcote Stakes where he comfortably beat a subsequent Royal Ascot winner. The pace setup, proven trackcraft, and progression under Buick and Appleby make him the standout. Tactically versatile and will stay 7f.
DO OR DO NOT (9/10): Massive improvement in the Coventry Stakes (runner-up from the wrong side of the track). Still progressing, well drawn, and adaptable tactically. A big player again in a slightly calmer environment.
Main Danger:
BRUSSELS (8/10): Looked smart on debut at the Curragh, showing a strong finishing effort. However, debutants from Ballydoyle often improve significantly from their first run, and this is a sharp rise in class. Needs to be ridden forward given the tactical nature of this race.
Interesting Outsiders:
COMICAL POINT (6/10): Ran well in the Norfolk (5th) and had impressed at Salisbury before that. May find these slightly stronger and more professional rivals a bit too sharp at this stage, but there’s more to come.
JEL PEPPER (6/10): Easy winner on debut at Goodwood in softish ground. Needs to progress again but certainly made an impression and should settle handy.
ZAVATERI (5/10): Strong Salisbury debut winner but vulnerable to experienced, proven Group horses in a small field/tactical setup. Held-up running style isn’t a plus here.

Do Or Do Not 9 Strong Coventry form, still on the up, track pace a slight worry
Brussels 8 Promising debut, classy pedigree, but lacks experience
Jel Pepper 6 Impressive start but big jump in grade
Comical Point 6 Honest, could place, but likely lacks the class to win here
Zavateri 5 Talented debutant but tactically unsuited and big jump in class

Private Tissue Estimate:
Maximized – 6/4
Do Or Do Not – 5/2
Brussels – 7/2
Jel Pepper – 10/1
Comical Point – 12/1
Zavateri – 20/1

Summary:
This tactical small-field Group 2 looks set to favour Maximized, who has both the form and running style for this setup. Do Or Do Not brings rock-solid Royal Ascot form to the table and will be a big danger if the pace proves stronger than expected. Brussels remains a promising colt but lacks experience against rivals of this calibre.
