PACE & DRAW ANGLES:
With pace likely even, front and mid-division runners can gain advantage over those held up too far back.
High draws have shown a disadvantage here, so mid-to-low drawn horses such as ON EDGE and RAGE OF THUNDER could benefit most from positioning and track layout.
THE BITTER MOOSE could again face challenges if slowly away, especially with high draw and lack of early zip.

STRONGEST CONTENDERS:
THE BITTER MOOSE (79) – Back on track with a strong runner-up effort over C&D behind a smart winner, and well handicapped on old form. The worry remains his slow-starting habit and vulnerability to race shape from stall 13.
ON EDGE (77) – Finished right behind The Bitter Moose at Newbury and is consistent. Drawn better in stall 2 and suited by strong pace. Worthy of serious interest.
RAGE OF THUNDER (75) – Bolted up in a well-run Salisbury handicap last time. Needs a similar pace collapse to thrive but has obvious claims if replicating that effort.
MONSIEUR PATAT (78) – A rejuvenated 8yo who’s been placed in both recent starts after a win. He has form at this track, travels strongly and handles firm ground. One of the few multiple-time winners in the field.
THUNDEROUS LOVE (76) – In good heart and a recent winner. Well positioned in a likely pace scenario and capable of another bold show.
SAFFREDI (77) – Front-runner who has held his form and could get an easy lead if breaking sharply. A genuine trier and well drawn.
—
INTERESTING OUTSIDERS:
SISTERS IN THE SKY (76) – Won despite a very slow start last time and needs to break better here, but in form and drawn reasonably.
SOUTHBANK (76) – Consistent and strong-finisher. May need things to fall his way, but can’t be ruled out if pace is honest.

SUMMARY:
This is a well-contested Class 5 sprint where draw and pace shape will be critical. ON EDGE looks primed for this setup – low draw, pace to chase, and consistent turf form. RAGE OF THUNDER was visually striking at Salisbury and, if repeated, makes him a big threat. THE BITTER MOOSE remains dangerous if breaking better, but stall 13 is not ideal.
