Race Setup & Tactical View: A 14-runner staying handicap where the pace forecast is even, meaning the race could unfold fairly without setting up excessively for closers or favouring those on the front end. Prominent racers such as GOLDEN FLAME and CAPTAIN POTTER may control the tempo. There’s no draw bias at this extended trip on Tapeta.

Main Contenders:
CAPTAIN POTTER [80] – Strong stayer in good form, bolting up at Pontefract last time and showing progressive staying ability since a wind op. Races prominently, which is a plus given today’s setup. Handles Tapeta and looks well treated for his latest 6-length romp.
LETMEBETHEBOSS [76] – 2 from 2 this summer and visually impressive at both Southwell and Kempton. Slightly more speed-oriented than others, so the trip here might be a stretch, but current form and a prominent style make him a big threat if he gets home.
ENDLESS WHISPER [84] – Lightly raced mare who’s shaped like a thorough stayer in the making, running on in steadily-run races over shorter. Slight concern is she’ll be off the bridle early here and could need a bit of luck coming from behind.
GOLDEN FLAME [82] – Consistent performer but rarely wins. Will be suited by a fair gallop and has placed in better races this year. Hard to win with but should give his running, especially if able to dominate.
—
Others to Note:
DINO BELLAGIO [81] – Stays well from the National Hunt sphere and ran creditably in a maiden last time. More to offer in handicaps at staying trips on the AW.
SPICED RUM [81] – AW record credible but seems more effective at slightly shorter. Still, capable of staying on for a place.
FLAMINGO ROSE [79] – Fair effort off a 3-year break to win last time. Hard to know what to expect now, but deserves respect.
TROJAN SUN [79] – Consistent and stays 2¼m, but prone to being outpaced if they go early. Hood now off.
CHILLHI [79] – Looks to be finding his level again, but question marks about consistency and the class of his recent form.
YOUNG ENDLESS [77] – Surprise Wolverhampton winner but looked exposed at Newmarket last time.
NOWHERE / HALIPHON / GRAND DUCHESS OLGA / QUEENSLAND BOY – Each has patchy form and is hard to fancy for win purposes.

Summary:
This looks an open staying handicap, but CAPTAIN POTTER brings the best recent form and is a proven strong stayer in a race where many may not truly get home. LETMEBETHEBOSS is progressing rapidly and may yet improve again despite the trip concern. ENDLESS WHISPER is better than she’s shown lately and could be interesting if staying strongly in a truer test.

Smart Play:
Win Bet: CAPTAIN POTTER – stays the trip well, races prominently, and comes in off a dominant success.
Each-Way Saver: LETMEBETHEBOSS – on a roll, unexposed, and tactically suited for this surface.
