·

Pace & Draw Angles:

The pace is forecast to be even, and although hold-up horses can occasionally swoop at Windsor, this trip often favours prominent racers or those up near the lead. BOBACIOUS and JUST AN HOUR both go forward, while DEBORA’S DREAM may find things against him tactically. Draw bias is negligible in this field size over the round 1m2f trip.

Strongest Contenders:

BOBACIOUS – Progressive

TFR 95 | Ed Dunlop | Mason Paetzel (5lb)

In red-hot form and chasing a hat-trick after wins at Leicester and Epsom, both on good to firm.

Took the lead early both times and stuck to his task well under pressure.

Breathing op seems to have turned him around and now 2–2 at this trip with tactical pace.

Will be right on the speed again and is clearly thriving for a stable in hot form (Timeform “Trainer to Follow”).

Likely to shorten in running given his racing style.

JUST AN HOUR (IRE) – Proven and consistent

TFR 93 | Rod Millman | Oisin Murphy (21% Windsor strike rate)

Two turf wins this season at Nottingham and Leicester, both over similar trips.

Run-style is prominently ridden, which is a plus, and held form last time at Goodwood.

Stamina at 1m4f is questionable; this return to 1m2f is a positive tactical fit.

Trainer-jockey combo strong, and he’s run well in all starts this term.

Main Dangers:

HAMLET’S NIGHT (IRE) – Unexposed maiden

TFR 94 | Daniel & Claire Kubler | Richard Kingscote

Long-standing maiden but placed in three of five runs since joining current yard.

Eye-catching at York when making a move from midfield before weakening – that was a deeper field.

Has ability and seems to be gradually finding his level, and this is more winnable.

Ground/trip combo suits, but a pace collapse may be needed.

MORCAR – Proven but vulnerable to improvers

TFR 92 | Richard Hannon | Alec Voikhansky (3lb)

Course-and-distance winner and regularly runs well here.

Just touched off by Miss Dolly Rocker at Goodwood; stamina appeared stretched at 12f.

Will be better suited by return to 10f and has tactical pace, but ceiling may now be defined off current mark.

Interesting Outsiders:

SILVER GUNN (IRE) – Quirky, but best form at Windsor

TFR 93 | Marco Botti | Tom Marquand

Narrowly denied over C&D in April but followed up with a flat effort in weaker company.

Races freely and can hang left – that can be costly at Windsor’s tight home bend.

Risky, but course suitability and jockey booking are positives.

WADACRE GOMEZ – Well-handicapped if bouncing back

TFR 92 | Charlie Johnston | Billy Loughnane

Inconsistent sort but capable when on song (3 wins in 2024, all on AW).

Needs strong handling, but if back on form, his mark is workable off 77.

Should track the speed and might be suited by a more patient ride than usual.

DEBORA’S DREAM (IRE) – Inconsistent

TFR 96 | Jennie Candlish | George Wood

Two wins last year, but this season has been patchy. Below form of late.

Stable showing more signs of life lately, and he drops in class here.

Likely to be held up off what may be an even pace – tactical disadvantages apply.

Runner Scores and Suitability:

Bobacious: 8.5/10 – Thriving, well-positioned, and tactically ideal at this track/trip.

Just An Hour: 7.5/10 – Reliable, likes the ground/trip, and Oisin is a big plus.

Hamlet’s Night: 7/10 – Maiden but form suggests a small race like this is within reach.

Morcar: 6.5/10 – Solid and tactically sound, but exposed versus improving types.

Silver Gunn: 6/10 – Has quirks, but C&D record makes him mildly interesting.

Wadacre Gomez: 6/10 – Needs to bounce back, but trip and mark are fine.

Debora’s Dream: 5.5/10 – Class drop helps, but pace/map profile not ideal.

> Keep an eye on the market for any support for Hamlet’s Night (maiden with upside) or big drifts on inconsistent profiles like Wadacre Gomez and Debora’s Dream.

Each-Way Angles:

7 runners only – no standard each-way play, but:

Hamlet’s Night could be a small place-only angle at 3/1 or better if supported.

Private Tissue Estimate:

Bobacious – 2/1

Just An Hour – 9/2

Hamlet’s Night – 6/1

Morcar – 6/1

Wadacre Gomez – 7/1

Silver Gunn – 8/1

Debora’s Dream – 12/1

> Market watch advised for Bobacious (hat-trick bid) and Hamlet’s Night (still a maiden but shaping well in defeat).

Summary + Smart Play:

A small field with a tactical complexion that likely suits the pace-pressers. Bobacious looks to dominate again and has conditions to suit; he’s clearly at the peak of his form and might have more in hand. Just An Hour is the likeliest to track and challenge if the leader falters. Hamlet’s Night is the potential wildcard if the race gets messy late.

Smart Play:

Win bet: Bobacious – front-runner in form, tactically ideal for Windsor’s finish.

Place saver: Hamlet’s Night – has hinted he’s capable of winning a small race; ground and trip suit.
