14:20 Hamilton – PHOENIX DRILLING GROUND INVESTIGATION HANDICAP (Class 6, 5f 7y, 3yo+, 0–60), Good (Good to Soft in places)

·

Pace Angles + Draw Angles:

A relatively evenly-run pace is forecast with several natural pace pressers, though Miss Rainbow and Refuge are likely to lead or race close up. Refuge should benefit from the contested but manageable early gallop, whereas Lady Of The Garr, a slow starter, may be at a tactical disadvantage. There is no notable draw bias at Hamilton on this ground over 5f.

Strongest Contenders + Main Dangers + Interesting Outsiders:

Miss Rainbow (IRE) – Proven and progressive, and absolutely thriving since headgear (now visor) was applied. She’s completed a hat-trick across 5f to 7f, showing tenacity and tactical speed. Now back on turf off a 3lb higher mark, she faces sterner opposition but remains the one to beat, especially as she’s likely to gain a handy position early.

Ski Angel – In-form and ran out a narrow winner at Musselburgh last time, finishing strongly despite a blocked run. Lightly campaigned this term and well drawn to sit off the speed before delivering late. Only up 2lb, she holds strong claims again.

Kyber Crystal (IRE) – Proven and consistent around this level. Runner-up to Pinpoint over C&D two starts ago and often delivers solid efforts. Vulnerable for win purposes but rarely runs a bad race.

Refuge – Hard to catch right, but has won at Beverley and shaped well over C&D behind Kyber Crystal. Inconsistent but gets conditions to suit, and his front-running style could play well if able to dominate or stalk the lead.

Lady Of The Garr (IRE) – In good form, but often misses the break and that’s a concern over 5f here. The Beverley second last time shows she’s in decent nick, but needs everything to fall right.

Sixcor – Reliable at Hamilton, often placing but without winning. Can sit handy but finds one or two too good too often.

Pinpoint – Patchy form, and while a C&D winner two starts back, regressed last time when behind Sixcor. Tactically versatile but not always straightforward.

The Voominator – Capable but quirky, has refused to race in the past and has major gate issues. Only for the brave.

Sali Cinnamon (IRE) – Exposed and unconvincing at this stage, with no evidence of competitiveness in handicaps.

Runner Scores and Suitability Analysis:

Miss Rainbow: 8/10 – Trip, ground, and pace all ideal; in top form.

Ski Angel: 7.5/10 – Nicely weighted, drawn well, and peaking now.

Kyber Crystal: 7/10 – Dependable and likes this track; danger for a place.

Refuge: 6.5/10 – Tactically suited but needs everything to click.

Lady Of The Garr: 6/10 – Will be running on; tactically vulnerable.

Sixcor: 6/10 – Always thereabouts; limited win appeal.

Pinpoint: 5.5/10 – Capable on a going day; needs more consistency.

The Voominator: 4.5/10 – Ability there but major behavioural risks.

Sali Cinnamon: 2.5/10 – No promise in form; hard to fancy.

Keep an eye on the market for support or big drifts for runners returning from layoffs of 90+ days.

Watch out for in-form sprinters returning quickly; they can be hot.

Each-Way Angles: With 9 runners declared, each-way terms (1/5 odds 1-2-3) apply.

Kyber Crystal and Refuge offer potential value as each-way players.

Private Tissue Estimate:

Miss Rainbow – 3/1

Ski Angel – 7/2

Kyber Crystal – 6/1

Refuge – 7/1

Lady Of The Garr – 8/1

Sixcor – 9/1

Pinpoint – 10/1

The Voominator – 16/1

Sali Cinnamon – 100/1

Market watch advised for runners making their 2nd start.

Summary + Professional Punter View (Smart Play): A competitive 0–60 sprint where the pace setup should favour those up with the speed. Miss Rainbow brings the best recent form and has been delivering under pressure. If she holds position early, she’s the one to beat. Ski Angel arrives in similar form and is primed to strike late.

Smart Play:

Win Bet: Miss Rainbow – thriving in current headgear and tactically suited.

Each-Way Saver: Kyber Crystal – consistent mare, likely to be thereabouts again.
