Top Contender + Main Dangers:
Half Past Tipsy appears to have found a good opportunity to get off the mark under rules, stepping back into handicap company where she was previously a warm favourite before falling. • No Topspeed or RPR data listed for latest or master. Topspeed Best 51. RPR Best 106.

    • Trained by C Murphy (33% in form) and ridden by E Walsh.

    • Topspeed Ratings: Latest 28, Master 28, Best 28. No RPR listed. Best RPR 101.
    • Sent off at 9-2 on debut but outpaced. Half-sister to six winners and is surely better than she showed. Cheekpieces may help sharpen her. Running style: Pressed leaders (P).

Estimated Tissue Odds:

  • 11/2 Eclipse Chaser
  • 6/1 Moon Mariner

Willie Mullins runs two, and Eclipse Chaser is entitled to respect given connections despite disappointing in two bumper starts. Killian’s Garden is another for the shortlist.

    • Talented stayer on the Flat, showed aptitude for hurdling winning his only previous start (16.5f, good) last October. Should stay this far (won over 2m on Flat) and is a fascinating contender with Jack Kennedy. Running style: Pressed leaders (P).
  • Brazil (7yo, 11st 0lbs, wore a tongue tie):
    • Trained by P Roche (100% in form) and ridden by Mark Walsh.
    • No OR listed. Topspeed Ratings: No TS listed, Best 113. RPR: Latest 134, Master 134, Best 144.
    • Won a nice pot on the Flat in 2023. Hasn’t won over timber since 2022 and was beaten over 17l in the 2024 Coral Cup. Has a bit to prove back in this sphere. Running style: Held up (H).
  • Chinx Of Light (9yo, 11st 0lbs):
    • Trained by J McConnell (50% in form) and ridden by Alex Harvey (5).
    • OR: 120. Topspeed Ratings: Latest 48, Master 48, Best 88. RPR: Latest 135, Master 135, Best 145.

    • Trained by G Elliott (37% in form) and ridden by Jordan Gainford.
    • OR: 122. Topspeed Ratings: Latest 19, Master 67, Best 53. RPR: Latest 139, Master 139, Best 139.
    • Four-time scorer over timber has not looked like a winner in waiting in three runs in 2025. Overlooked by Jack Kennedy. Running style: Pressed leaders (P).

Estimated Tissue Odds:

  • 7/4 Reverend Hubert
  • 9/4 Jabbar
  • 7/2 The Friday Man
  • 7/1 Brazil
  • 10/1 Chinx Of Light

Top Contender + Main Dangers:
The spotlight verdict suggests the trip is new territory for Jabbar, but he should stay, and he is completely unexposed in this sphere with Jack Kennedy as a notable booking. The top-rated Reverend Hubert looks the main threat if bouncing back from his moderate Galway effort. The other three come into the race with plenty of questions to answer.

Estimated Tissue Odds:

  • 3/1 The Little Yank
  • 4/1 Pride Of Place
  • 5/1 Hardy Diamond
  • 11/2 Riggs
  • 6/1 Hand Over Fist
  • 15/2 Bestaline
  • 10/1 Solly Attwell
  • 14/1 Dawn Escape

Top Contender + Main Dangers:
A competitive contest. The spotlight verdict suggests it could be worth siding with Henry De Bromhead’s C&D winner Hand Over Fist (nap). He’s down in grade, a good claimer takes off 5lb, and first-time blinkers can help him get back on track. The Little Yank has to be considered after his near miss last time. It would be no surprise to see Pride Of Place bounce back. Bestaline could also do better at this more suitable trip.

    • Yet to win over fences but went close over 2m4f in a Naas beginners’ chase. Hasn’t fired the last twice and may need softer ground. Running style: Held up (H).
  • A Wave Of The Sea (9yo, 11st 2lbs):
    • Trained by J P Broderick (0% in form) and ridden by Mark Walsh.
    • OR: 120. Topspeed Ratings: Latest 126, Master 126, Best 126. RPR: Latest 141, Master 141, Best 157.
    • Ended a wait of over three years for a win over C&D two weeks ago, winning with authority. Hit with an 8lb rise, which seems fair. Still well-handicapped on old form (won off 142). Considered dangerous to discount. Running style: Held up (H).
  • Slane Hill (8yo, 11st 2lbs, wore blinkers):
    • Trained by B Connell (100% in form) and ridden by Sean Flanagan.

    • Sole win over fences came in a 2m6f beginners’ at this venue. Ran respectably on return to chasing. The 3m1f trip stretched him, and this distance is more suitable. Should go well. Running style: Midfield (M).
  • My Gaffer (7yo, 10st 13lbs):
    • Trained by J Ryan (25% in form) and ridden by Danny Mullins.
    • OR: 117. Topspeed Ratings: Latest 104. No TS listed for master or future. RPR: Latest 135, Master 135, Best 140.
    • Won a beginners’ at Clonmel but struggled in first two handicap chases. Below par over timber recently, and has a bit to prove off this mark over fences. Running style: Pressed leaders (P).
  • That’s About Right (7yo, 10st 13lbs, wore cheekpieces):
    • Trained by P Rothwell (53% in form) and ridden by Simon Torrens.

    • Finished last season in superb form over fences with two wins and a second. Got a 9lb rise for his win. May have needed his last run and got 1lb back. Could do better now. Running style: Held up (H).
  • Big Stage (7yo, 10st 12lbs, wore a tongue tie):
    • Trained by G Elliott (37% in form) and ridden by Jack Kennedy.
    • OR: 116. Topspeed Ratings: Latest 75, Master 106, Best 75. RPR: Latest 135, Master 135, Best 139.
    • Winning hurdler, 0-8 over bigger obstacles. Jumping lacked fluency at times over this C&D. Dropped 3lb but needs to improve plenty to play a part. Running style: Midfield (M).
  • Clonshire River (8yo, 10st 11lbs, wore a tongue tie):
    • Trained by E & P Harty (0% in form) and ridden by Kieren Buckley.
    • OR: 115. Topspeed Ratings: Latest 94, Master 80, Best 106. RPR: Latest 135, Master 135, Best 135.
    • Won under a positive ride at Limerick on return from a break. Wasn’t suited by the drop to 2m1f last time. Runner-up twice here over hurdles, so it would be no surprise for him to rebound stepped back up in trip. Running style: Pressed leaders (P).

Estimated Tissue Odds:

  • 7/4 A Wave Of The Sea
  • 9/2 Slane Hill
  • 6/1 Tullybeg
  • 13/2 Clonshire River
  • 8/1 Foxy Girl
  • 10/1 My Gaffer
  • 12/1 Big Stage
  • 14/1 That’s About Right

Top Contender + Main Dangers:
A Wave Of The Sea won with authority here last time after a long wait, and he may be able to follow up that confidence-boosting victory despite an 8lb rise. Slane Hill looks to be the main danger. Clonshire River is also interesting, given that he has gone well here before over hurdles.

    • Finished well behind on debut at Galway. Rider arrangements suggest Not So Serious is the yard’s main hope. Running style: Held up (H).
  • Not So Serious (4yo, 11st 11lbs):
    • Trained by A Slattery (67% in form) and ridden by Mr A P Ryan (5).
    • No ratings shown.
    • 9,500euros Kingston Hill gelding. Yard is firing in bumper winners recently, so a market check is advised.
  • Blue Waters (4yo, 11st 4lbs):
    • Trained by G Elliott (37% in form) and ridden by Mr H C Swan.
    • No ratings shown.
    • 44,000euros Blue Bresil filly. Worth a market check.
  • Moja Dama (4yo, 11st 4lbs, wore a first-time hood):
    • Trained by W Mullins (56% in form) and ridden by Mr P W Mullins.
    • No ratings shown.
    • Half-sister to a French AW winner. Of obvious interest despite wearing a hood for debut.

Estimated Tissue Odds:

  • 15/8 Moja Dama
  • 4/1 Blue Waters
  • 6/1 Kashchei, Ozark’s Walk
  • 15/2 Appy Getaway
  • 10/1 Not So Serious
  • 25/1 Ardgillan
  • 33/1 Another Belter, Call Tadgh

Top Contender + Main Dangers:
Those with a run don’t set a very high standard, so Moja Dama is given the nod to win on debut for the Mullins’ team, provided her odds tell a positive story. Blue Waters, Not So Serious, and Appy Getaway are worth a market check. Kashchei looks to be top of the pile of those with a run.
