On the Ratings Radar
- 🐎 2 Claymore (FR) – Top rated (82.79) and priced at 6.5. Solid numbers across all key measures, especially max speed (96.01). Proven over the trip and on the ground.
- 🐎 5 Silent Age (FR) – 82.36 rating and 9.5 in the market. Not flashy historically, but last two runs (88.6, 86.77) scream “sharp form”.
- 🐎 8 Parole Doro – 79.57 rating but market favourite at 3.0. Rock-steady figures in last three starts, well suited to the trip.
Value Watch
- 1 Andaleep (IRE) – Rating 79.01, bigger price at 13.0, yet boasts the highest Max All (98.79) and excellent peak numbers for distance and going. Needs to replicate that best form, but it’s there in the locker.
- 4 Mr Swivell – Lowest rating (70.04) but intriguingly just 5.0 in the betting. Last run was the fastest in the field (91.76) – market clearly latching onto that.
Speed Figure Talking Points
- Figures have been recently recalibrated by Chris (the compiler), so long-time users should note small shifts in the numbers.
- As always, context matters – a big last-run figure could be trip/pace/draw aided, not necessarily raw ability.
Tactics & Pace
- Windsor’s Figure-of-8 can trip up the unwary – balance and positioning matter.
- Claymore and Parole Doro are likely to race handily; Silent Age can stalk; Mr Swivell might look for a repeat front-running steal.
- If the pace is even, the higher-rated proven horses should grind it out – but a dawdle could hand an advantage to a bold front-runner.
Pro View
- Win Contenders: Claymore (class & consistency), Parole Doro (form horse, fav’s profile fits), Silent Age (sharp recent runs).
- Value Angle: Andaleep – price underestimates peak ability if things fall right.
- Dark Horse: Mr Swivell – last run hinted at something brewing.
Verdict: A genuinely competitive Racing League heat where the market fav Parole Doro has the right recent profile, but Claymore is the class act on the numbers. I wouldn’t rule out a place at double-figures for Andaleep, while Mr Swivell is the pace wild card.
