5.00 Tramore – Heinz Pollmeier Memorial Handicap Chase (0–100, 2m, Good)

·

Pace Scenario: A few possible pace angles here with Ixigreczed, Itsalonglongroad and Lady Rose Hackett all known to race prominently. The likely pace is even to solid, especially if one tries to stretch the field from halfway. Tramore’s tight, undulating right-handed circuit favours well-balanced types that can race handily.

Strongest Contenders:

ONEBRIGHTBLUEROSE (Proven & Competitive) – A dual course winner and thriving this summer, including when 3rd in a decent Wexford hurdle latest and previously 3rd here over fences behind a strong winner. Handles good ground well, jumps adequately, and has a competitive mark. Stays well and has ideal race conditions. Expected to go close.

ITSALONGLONGROAD (Proven) – 11yo veteran with 4 course wins (including 3 over jumps). Came clear of stablemate when runner-up over C&D in May off 99, now back off 99. Best at Tramore, solid jumper, and acts on good ground. Slight concern about bounce factor after two quick runs and a heavy defeat over hurdles in between.

MIST ON THE BOG (Interesting) – 10yo with low mileage over fences. Career-best chase run latest, staying on into 4th behind better rivals. Drops in trip here which may not be ideal, but has the services of Sean Flanagan and seems fit. Not many miles on the clock for age.

Main Dangers:

LADY ROSE HACKETT (Unexposed, Promising) – Lightly raced mare for De Bromhead. Fair effort at Kilbeggan after a break, shaping as if needing the run. Yard doesn’t waste runs here, and although she’s never raced over fences, her point win and strong stable suggest she can improve switched to chasing. Well treated if taking to the discipline.

IXIGRECZED (Inconsistent but Capable) – Capable of winning at this level as shown at Kilbeggan last summer. Ran okay on chase debut in March and hinted at a return to form over fences. Visor retained, but she’s hard to trust and ideally wants a lead.

Interesting Outsiders:

APPLEJACK POET – Hit form earlier this summer with a pair of solid runs, including a fair 3rd at Tramore. Reverted to hurdles recently but returns to fences on a fair mark. Lacks finishing kick but consistent and best on good ground.

HOB’S ANGEL – Poor win record but ran two solid races back-to-back in chases, and still lightly raced in this code. Could be one to improve on these terms under 7lb claimer, though she’ll need luck and a clear round.

Runner Scores & Suitability:

  • Onebrightbluerose: 8/10 – In top form, loves the track, versatile trip/ground.
  • Itsalonglongroad: 7/10 – Course specialist, well handicapped, slight stamina edge.
  • Lady Rose Hackett: 7/10 – Unexposed, interesting chasing debut, ground/trip ideal.
  • Mist On The Bog: 6/10 – Late bloomer, good latest, trip a shade short?
  • Ixigreczed: 6/10 – Competitive type when right, but not reliable.
  • Applejack Poet: 5/10 – Honest, needs strong pace and others to falter.
  • Hob’s Angel: 5/10 – Two fair chase runs but often finds little late.
  • Special Protector: 4/10 – More exposed, hasn’t shown same chase ability.
  • Katzoff: 3/10 – Very modest, limited impact in this discipline.
  • Baltinglass Hill: 3/10 – Out of form, usually weakens quickly.

Advice: Watch for market support on chasing debutants (Lady Rose Hackett), and track bias at Tramore where being handy is often crucial.

Each-Way Angles:

With a full field, each-way betting is viable. Two standouts:

  • Onebrightbluerose – Strong, consistent form at the track. Each-way banker.
  • Lady Rose Hackett – Potentially better than her mark now switched to fences. Stable rarely wastes runs at Tramore.

Private Tissue Estimate:

  • Onebrightbluerose – 3/1
  • Lady Rose Hackett – 5/1
  • Itsalonglongroad – 6/1
  • Mist On The Bog – 8/1
  • Ixigreczed – 10/1
  • Applejack Poet – 12/1
  • Hob’s Angel – 14/1
  • Special Protector – 16/1
  • Katzoff – 20/1
  • Baltinglass Hill – 25/1

Summary & Professional Punter View (Smart Play):

This looks a modest but open low-grade chase with several exposed sorts and two with upside. Onebrightbluerose is a solid pick – well-handicapped, in-form, and two wins at this track. She sets the standard. Lady Rose Hackett is the class angle on debut over fences for a top yard – if she jumps cleanly, she could easily outrun her mark.

Smart Play:

  • Win: Onebrightbluerose – Track specialist, consistent and rock-solid in context.
  • Each-Way Saver: Lady Rose Hackett – Unexposed, interesting now chasing for De Bromhead.
