6.07 Killarney – Peadar’s Pub Glenbeigh Beginners Chase (2m7f100y, €11,000, 4yo+, GOOD)

·

Pace & Tactical Angles:

With several strong stayers in the field and a few confirmed front-runners, an even to strong pace seems likely. Millforce, Timmy Tuesday, and What’s Up Darling have previously been prominent over staying trips, and early tempo could be set honestly, which suits grinders and proven stayers.

Strongest Contenders:

Antrim Coast (Proven)

  • Ran to a career-best RPR of 129 last time when second in a big-field Galway handicap. That effort franked novice chase form and built on his promising staying hurdles record. His stamina is proven and a switch to a beginners’ event now looks an ideal opportunity. Smart form in the book and likely to sit off the pace before grinding it out late.
  • Stable (Cromwell) in excellent form (rtf% 86); Donoghue back aboard a major positive. This trip and ground are optimal.

What’s Up Darling (Proven)

  • High RPRs in multiple good-class chase events, including 134+ figures at Leopardstown and Thurles. Looked rusty last time but shaped well over a trip that may have been sharp enough. Returns to a more suitable staying test and holds solid each-way credentials.
  • Consistently placed behind better horses and could take a step forward against lesser opposition here.

Timmy Tuesday (Proven)

  • 137 RPR at Aintree in April over similar distance in deep company. Flopped twice since, including latest at Galway, but that was a stronger handicap hurdle, and he now returns to chasing. Obvious player on best form and yard has two good chances in here.
  • Won going left-handed; cheekpieces back off today. Watch for signs of support.

Main Dangers:

Butcher Hollow (Promising)

  • Winning pointer with good form in maiden hurdles. Didn’t get far on chase debut when unseating late at Tipperary, but clearly thought capable (sent off single figures). Drying ground could be a plus, and based on early rules form, he has upside in this sphere.

Millforce (Chasing Type, but needs to rebound)

  • Another Cromwell-trained runner, and while he flopped latest in a big Galway field, his hurdling form (won at Thurles, placed at Cheltenham) is very respectable. Staying trip is in his favour, and connections reach for cheekpieces again. Outsider with place potential if bouncing back.

Others:

  • Larkfield Lidaho: Exposed and tailed off in both starts. No current ability shown.
  • Noel Meade & Joseph O’Brien runners absent — race lacks depth outside top 4-5.

Runner Scores and Suitability:

  • Antrim Coast: 9/10 – In peak form, trip/ground ideal, well-placed.
  • What’s Up Darling: 8/10 – Smart past form, up in trip, major contender if fit.
  • Timmy Tuesday: 7/10 – Needs to bounce back but has the class.
  • Butcher Hollow: 6/10 – Chasing debut incomplete, potential on prior hurdles form.
  • Millforce: 5/10 – Form dipped last time, but a staying chase may suit ideally.
  • Larkfield Lidaho: 1/10 – Outclassed and uncompetitive to date.

Private Tissue Estimate:

  • Antrim Coast – 15/8
  • What’s Up Darling – 11/4
  • Timmy Tuesday – 4/1
  • Butcher Hollow – 6/1
  • Millforce – 10/1
  • Others 33/1+

Summary + Professional Punter View (Smart Play):

This looks a soft beginners’ event where a couple have clear class edges. Antrim Coast brings peak recent form and is expected to dominate if repeating Galway levels. What’s Up Darling brings high-level experience and is interesting now returned to further. Timmy Tuesday, though inconsistent, is not discounted on old form.

Smart Play:

  • Win Selection: Antrim Coast – peaking now, ideal opportunity in a weak field.
  • Forecast Saver: Antrim Coast > What’s Up Darling – two class horses against lesser types.
