7.15 Windsor – Kelly Chapman, Platinum Air Cargo UK Handicap (Class 4, 1m, Good)

·

Race Setup & Pace:
Nine declared. Windsor 1m can be tricky with its turning nature – pace often holds up if not overcooked. Bravo Zulu and Newfangled are prominent types, Lyndon B can press, while Mafnood and Bintjeddah tend to be mid-div. She’s A Warrior and Kalamunda usually held up, so will want a solid gallop. Draws 1–3 look fine; outer stalls less of an issue here than at 6f.

Leading Contenders:

  • Bravo Zulu (Proven, Progressive) – 8/10
Two turf wins this summer (Windsor last time), now 6 wins from 10 since joining yard. AW mark much higher, so still well treated. Penalised but 3lb claimer offsets. Will likely be on the pace again. Suitability: strong.
  • Newfangled (Proven, Solid) – 7/10
Improving this year, good Windsor 2nd to Bravo Zulu latest. Consistent since cheekpieces applied, wins have mainly been lower class but mark still workable. Will race handy, track suits.
  • Bintjeddah (Promising, Unexposed 3yo) – 8/10
Only 7 starts, lightly raced for Haggas. Class 2 last time too hot; better judged on strong Newmarket 2nd in June (RPR 84). Still scope off 82, especially as a filly against older geldings. Needs to settle but track’s turning nature could help.
  • Kalamunda (Proven AW, Questionable Turf) – 6/10
Massive AW performer (5-5 at one point) but turf mark stiff. Sandown 4th latest respectable but hasn’t won on grass. Probably more of a place angle unless returning to AW.
  • Lyndon B (Exposed, Capable) – 6/10
Veteran, still popping up. Windsor winner in June, mark remains stiff for consistency. Needs everything to fall right from off the pace.
  • Mafnood (Capable, but win-shy) – 6/10
Plenty of placed efforts, no handicap win yet. Recent efforts at Epsom/Goodwood suggest he’s running to mark but lacks finishing kick. Place material more than win.
  • She’s A Warrior (Promising, lightly raced) – 7/10
Costly filly, very lightly raced, still learning. Staying-on efforts suggest more to come now fitter. This trip on turning track could be ideal – dangerous if improving.

Interesting Outsider:

  • Kalamunda if market support comes – strong AW profile, some high ratings, just needs to prove himself back on turf.

Runner Scores (suitability today):

  • Bravo Zulu – 8/10
  • Bintjeddah – 8/10
  • Newfangled – 7/10
  • She’s A Warrior – 7/10
  • Lyndon B – 6/10
  • Mafnood – 6/10
  • Kalamunda – 6/10

Private Tissue:

  • Bravo Zulu 3/1
  • Bintjeddah 7/2
  • Newfangled 5/1
  • She’s A Warrior 6/1
  • Mafnood 8/1
  • Lyndon B 10/1
  • Kalamunda 10/1
    Others 14/1+

Summary:
Likely an even pace, Bravo Zulu and Newfangled leading. Bintjeddah looks the main danger dropping from Class 2, while She’s A Warrior is the dark horse with upside for her top yard. Mafnood and Lyndon B are exposed place candidates.

Smart Play:

  • Win bet – Bravo Zulu (proven thriving form, track winner, still well in on AW comparisons).
  • Each-way saver – Bintjeddah (class drop, unexposed filly, scope to improve).

Market watch important for She’s A Warrior (Varian often sharpens them 3rd run) and Kalamunda if backed on return to turf.
