7.07 Kempton – Try Unibet’s New Smartview Racecards Fillies’ Handicap (Class 4, 7f, AW, £12,000)

·

Pace & Draw Angles:
Kempton 7f often favours those with tactical speed, especially from middle to low draws. Likely pace comes from Naina (can go forward), Lady Manzor (prominent/versatile), and Radiant Beauty (can race handy). A strong gallop isn’t guaranteed – looks more like an even/moderate tempo, so positioning will be key. Low-to-middle draws hold a slight edge.

Strongest Contenders

Circios – (Ralph Beckett, Draw 2)Progressive
Lightly raced Kingman filly, shaped with lots of promise in higher class maidens before scoring comfortably at Redcar. Pedigree screams improvement to come. Beckett has an excellent AW record with 3yo fillies, and Rossa Ryan booked is a positive. Well drawn, should sit handy.

Madame De Sevigne – (Draw 10)Proven
Consistent at this level, often finishing her races off well. Close second at Chelmsford latest suggests she remains well handicapped at Class 4 level. Draw wide but she’s usually held up, so may need luck. Strong stayer at 7f, possibly wants a stronger gallop.

Definitive – (Clive Cox, Draw 8)Promising
Expensive Dark Angel filly who showed ability in maidens, including a win on debut over 6f. Two runs in handicaps have hinted at more to come, especially when finishing strongly at Doncaster. The AW should suit given pedigree (Dark Angel/Oasis Dream). Big player if settling.

Naina – (Draw 5)Proven AW player
Solid profile on the all-weather, with 4 wins and consistency when ridden positively. Recent efforts (Lingfield & Newmarket) show she’s in form and competitive at this level. Well drawn to attack early.

Al Joory – (Roger Varian, Draw 6)Unexposed improver
Shadwell filly, already a Kempton winner, lightly raced and with scope for improvement. Last time not ideally placed at Lingfield but stuck on. Varian often targets Kempton with this type, and off 78 she’s dangerous if stepping forward.

Main Dangers

My Margie – (Draw 1) – Loves AW, all 4 wins have come on synthetics. But most effective at a mile; 7f sharp enough. Could be shuffled back from stall 1 if not sharp away.
Radiant Beauty – (Draw 7) – In-form since joining James Owen, won well at Redcar. Consistent on AW but has shown quirks when asked to dig deep.
Lady Manzor – (Draw 3) – Has a fine AW record, versatile tactically, and Saffie Osborne gets on well with her type. Could easily bounce back from recent turf runs.
Tuesdays Child – (Draw 9) – Boughey newcomer to handicaps, bolted up latest in Class 5. This is much deeper but clearly improving fast.

Outsiders / Interesting Angles

La Ferveur – (Draw 4) – French recruit for Newland/Insole, shaped with some ability but weakened tamely on UK debut. Needs market support to be considered.
Isabella Castile – (Draw 11) – Wide draw is tough, but her Kempton 2nd in May was solid. Not fully exposed but needs plenty of luck from there.

Runner Scores (Suitability /10)

  • Circios – 9/10 (progressive, well drawn, big upside)
  • Naina – 8.5/10 (tough, consistent, well drawn, solid EW)
  • Madame De Sevigne – 8/10 (strong finisher, but wide draw risk)
  • Definitive – 8/10 (unexposed, dangerous if settling)
  • Al Joory – 7.5/10 (scope, Varian angle, needs to confirm strength at this level)
  • Lady Manzor – 7.5/10 (course form, consistent, lacks much in hand)
  • Radiant Beauty – 7/10 (in form, but AW mark might be her ceiling)
  • My Margie – 6.5/10 (back to AW helps, trip looks sharp)
  • Tuesdays Child – 6.5/10 (deepest test yet, stamina question at sharper 7f)
  • Isabella Castile – 6/10 (talented, but wide draw big concern)
  • La Ferveur – 5/10 (French form interesting, but flop on UK debut)

Private Tissue (fair odds estimate)

  • Circios 3/1
  • Naina 9/2
  • Definitive 6/1
  • Madame De Sevigne 7/1
  • Al Joory 7/1
  • Lady Manzor 10/1
  • Radiant Beauty 12/1
  • My Margie 14/1
  • Tuesdays Child 14/1
  • Isabella Castile 16/1
  • La Ferveur 20/1

Summary

This looks a competitive Class 4 fillies’ handicap but one where unexposed 3yos have the upper hand over exposed 4yos. Pace should be even, with Naina, Lady Manzor and Radiant Beauty likely prominent, suiting stalkers from inside draws. Wide-drawn closers (Madame De Sevigne, Isabella Castile) will need a lot to fall right.

Smart Play (Pro Punter View)

  • Win Bet: Circios – progressive, well drawn, looks to have plenty more to come.
  • Each-Way Saver: Naina – tough, consistent, and ideally berthed to get a good tactical position.

“Market watch essential for La Ferveur (2nd UK run) and Tuesdays Child (progressive but up in class).”
