8.07 Kempton – Unibet Zero% Mission (London Sprint Series Qualifier) Handicap (Class 4) 6f (AW)

·

Race setup:
Class 4, three-year-olds only, 12k pot. Polytrack 6f – tends to suit those who can sit close to pace but not blast too hard; stall position is less critical than at Chelmsford or Lingfield but a wide trip into the bend can still cost. Predicted pace looks solid with several that like to go forward (Rogue Allegiance, Ardennes, possibly Hello Zaman if reverting to forcing tactics).

Strongest Contenders

  • Rogue Allegiance (O’Meara) – PROGRESSIVE / PROMISING
Impressive Newcastle novice winner on debut (RPR 94) but has yet to back that up on turf. Back to AW is a major plus. Gelding’s form suggests he’s much better on artificial and still unexposed in handicaps. Hooded and drawn 7 with Crouch – strong chance if settling.
  • Hello Zaman (Tate) – PROGRESSIVE
Already shown solid form in AW handicaps, notably RPR 92 when second at Kempton over C&D in June. Still lightly raced, form is working out okay, trainer/jockey combo reliable. Drawn 8 might mean forced wide early, but has the finishing power to be involved.
  • Spherical (Varian) – PROMISING
Cheveley Park filly who has already won on Polytrack. Last run at Haydock (beaten, weak finish) possibly needed after break. Previously showed plenty at Kempton. Stays 6f well, Varian’s team strong at this track. Big chance if bouncing back.
  • Haazeez (Fellowes) – IMPROVING
Arrives in form – good Doncaster second, followed by tidy Southwell win. Up 6lb but Polytrack debut is interesting. By Mehmas so surface should hold no fears. Draw wide (11) a negative, but has the ability to swoop late if tempo is solid.

Main Dangers

  • Jettie’s Run (Beckett) – Useful AW debut win here last autumn; flopped badly on turf reappearance but stable/jockey combination in top form. Returns to C&D, which is a positive. Market watch essential.
  • Kiniro (Charlton) – Consistent profile, RPRs in the mid-90s, goes well at Kempton. Bit more exposed than some, but always running solid races. Oisin Murphy a strong booking.
  • Great (Hannon) – Useful maiden winner, shaped well when finishing fast from off pace at Windsor latest. Still raw but unexposed; if pace collapses he’s the type to capitalise.

Interesting Outsiders

  • Majestic Wave (Dow) – Irish maiden winner now with Simon Dow; shaped well on AW debut here behind strong opposition. Looks like a 6-7f horse; 77 rating workable but consistency an issue.
  • Think Of A Name (Knight) – Kempton winner in October on heavy ground; inconsistent since but stamina at 7f suggests this sharp 6f may be on the short side.

Red/Blue Team Scores (Suitability out of 10)

  • Rogue Allegiance – 8/10 (major AW potential, strong chance)
  • Hello Zaman – 8/10 (consistent, reliable, form solid)
  • Spherical – 7.5/10 (bounce back angle, trainer strong)
  • Haazeez – 7.5/10 (improving, needs luck from wide)
  • Jettie’s Run – 7/10 (C&D win, but fitness to prove)
  • Kiniro – 7/10 (solid, but exposed type)
  • Great – 7/10 (fast finish type, if pace collapses)
  • Majestic Wave – 6/10 (AW capable but patchy profile)
  • Bob Mali – 6/10 (class dropper, but AW debut and hasn’t kicked on since spring)
  • Havana Gila – 6/10 (useful on turf, needs to prove Polytrack suitability)
  • Think Of A Name – 5.5/10 (better over further, inconsistent)
  • Ardennes – 4/10 (out of form, needs revival, though rail draw helps).

Private Tissue (Guide Odds)

  • Rogue Allegiance 7/2
  • Hello Zaman 4/1
  • Spherical 11/2
  • Haazeez 6/1
  • Jettie’s Run 8/1
  • Kiniro 8/1
  • Great 9/1
  • Majestic Wave 14/1
  • Bob Mali 16/1
  • Havana Gila 16/1
  • Think Of A Name 20/1
  • Ardennes 25/1

Summary & Smart Play

Plenty of unexposed 3yo’s stepping into this London Sprint Series leg. Rogue Allegiance looks the key horse – back to AW, where his form is strongest, with scope to climb higher in the ratings. Hello Zaman is a rock-solid rival, already proven over C&D, while Spherical is another who could bounce back in these conditions.

Smart Play:

  • Win Bet: Rogue Allegiance
  • Saver / Each-Way: Hello Zaman (strong C&D form, consistent)
  • Dark Horse to Watch: Spherical (if the Varian filly is back to peak, she can win this).
