Pace / Draw Angles:
Forecast pace looks even. Spioradalta is the most likely to push on, with Dawn Of Liberation and possibly Financer not far behind. Beverley’s 1m2f trip places emphasis on balance and stamina into the stiff finish; being handy but not in a burn-up is often ideal. The draw bias is marginal but historically, low to middle stalls have an edge here.
Strongest Contenders
Glistening Nights (Fahey, 9st7lb, stall 4) – Progressive profile. Big player now that Crown Of Oaks is out. Won over C&D last year, comes here in form after a dominant Chester win and narrow Ayr defeat. Travels smoothly, handles fast ground, looks ideally placed in the draw to track pace.
Financer (Easterby, 10st0lb, stall 4) – Proven at trip/class. Consistent strong runs at York and Windsor recently mark him down as solid. Carries top weight but has the class to cope. Handles quick ground, track should suit.
Desert Shadow (bin Suroor, 9st4lb, stall 3) – Promising 3yo. Gelding has helped; improved second at Sandown hints at more to come. Still a bit of a stamina question in a stiff finish, but well drawn and looks unexposed in handicaps.
Main Dangers
Time Tells All (Carroll, 9st3lb, stall 5) – Course specialist. Two C&D wins this summer, tough and consistent. Slightly vulnerable stepping into deeper waters but Beverley clearly suits him better than anywhere else.
Dawn Of Liberation (Carr, 9st11lb, stall 6) – Capable but quirky. Triple winner this season, including here. Didn’t look happy making the running last time. If ridden with patience, not ruled out.
Distinction (Mackie, 9st2lb, stall 7) – Bev lover. 3 wins and 2 seconds from 6 course starts. Ground faster than ideal, but cannot be dismissed with that record.
Others
Titian (Camacho, 9st12lb, stall 7) – Strong York win earlier this year, Beverley’s stiff finish could suit but needs everything to fall right.
Spioradalta (Walford, 9st4lb, stall 5) – Reliable type, but prefers a bit of ease in ground; may set things up for others if forced to go forward on this quicker surface.
Precious Spartan (Neville, 8st6lb, stall 3) – 3yo on the up at a mile, but yet to prove stamina for 1m2f at this level. Others more solid.

Summary & Smart Play
This Silver Cup lacks Crown Of Oaks but remains competitive. Pace looks fair, draw advantage sits with Glistening Nights and Desert Shadow. Beverley form is crucial, and both Glistening Nights and Time Tells All tick that box, while Financer brings strong York/Windsor form.
Smart Play:
- Win bet – Glistening Nights (solid profile, in form, C&D form, draw/pace ideal).
- Saver – Financer (high-class handicapper, consistent and reliable).
- Each-way angle – Time Tells All (thrives at Beverley, value if holding form at this level).
