Pace & Shape

Strong/true pace likely. Natural pressers/pace-setters: Let’s Sail Away, Midnight Jewel, Zacony Rebel (blinkers), Isocrate, King Of The Story. Jeudidee and Glajou sit handy; Just Chasing May can track the speed; Byzantine Empire, Sleeping Satellite, Raindance Queen more hold-up. No draw in chases; on Worcester’s sharp LH track, prominent/handy with clean jumping is usually an edge.

Angles (trip/ground/class)

  • Ground/Trip sweet-spots: Jeudidee (2m–2m4f on good), Let’s Sail Away (point winner; promising 2m4f chase debut), Midnight Jewel (3-7 over fences around this trip on good), King Of The Story (back-to-back C&D wins on good), Isocrate (solid at 2m–2m4f on good).
  • Class moves: King Of The Story up again after wins from 73→79→87; faces better horses now but still well-weighted. Jeudidee/Let’s Sail Away/Isocrate look on workable marks.
  • Fitness/recency: Most race-fit; Glajou shaped well after a long absence; Sleeping Satellite/ Byzantine Empire need to bounce.
  • Jumping: Jeudidee’s fencing now a plus; Let’s Sail Away jumped soundly on debut; Zacony Rebel tidied up with headgear; Midnight Jewel can clout one late when under pressure.

Strongest contenders

PROVEN/PROGRESSIVE

  • Jeudidee (Proven/Progressive) – 1st then 2nd in the spring/summer over fences (RPR ~115 both), shapes like 2m4f on good is ideal. Up to 11-12 but form stacks up; handy run style suits this track.
  • Let’s Sail Away (Promising) – Point winner; classy debut over fences when 2nd giving weight; scope to improve from OR 101 and should travel prominently.
  • Isocrate (Proven) – 1st at Warwick then 2nd here to Zacony Rebel; straightforward with cheekpieces; won over further so pace no issue.
  • King Of The Story (Progressive) – Thriving C&D winner twice in July; up 8lb into better race but gets only 10-5; likes good ground and this rhythm.

Main dangers / value

  • Midnight Jewel – Reliable on good around this trip (3 chase wins), but off 110/top-weight; needs a fluent round after last-time error.
  • Glajou – Unreliable overall but encouraging comeback; C&D winner; if building on that, a place squeak at a price.
  • Zacony Rebel – Beat Isocrate over C&D two back (blinkers); flop over shorter next time—back up in trip helps but now higher and not as well-treated.

Interesting outsider

  • Just Chasing May (Promising) – Improving hurdler now chasing; if he takes to fences, his 2m4f stamina and attitude give upside from 103 (but first-time over fences is a query at Worcester’s speed test).

Runner scores (suitability today)

  • Jeudidee 8.5/10 – Trip/ground ideal; handy; mark fair; small rise in class OK.
  • Let’s Sail Away 8/10 – Unexposed chaser; prominent; should be better for debut; slight jumping/experience risk.
  • Isocrate 7.5/10 – Honest, fit, headgear works; strong pace fine; not much in hand but solid.
  • King Of The Story 7.5/10 – Hot C&D form; light weight; class hike the only knock.
  • Midnight Jewel 7/10 – Track/trip/ground tick; top-weight and recent error temper.
  • Just Chasing May 6.5/10 – Improver; chasing debut variable; talent there.
  • Glajou 6/10 – Ability there; reliability isn’t.
  • Zacony Rebel 6/10 – Back to right trip, but now higher; pace pressure around.
  • Sleeping Satellite 5/10 – Needs revival; may prefer RH and/or a drop.
  • Collingham 4.5/10 – High hurdling peak but chasing efforts underwhelming; top weight 12-0 here earlier didn’t help.
  • Byzantine Empire 4/10 – Recent chasing form poor; better over hurdles.
  • Raindance Queen 2/10 – Outclassed at this level.

Keep an eye on the market for support or big drifts for runners returning from layoffs of 90+ days.
Watch out for in-form sprinters returning quickly; they can be hot. (Not especially relevant here, but principle stands.)

Each-way angles (11 runners)

  • King Of The Story – thriving C&D winner twice, gets a lovely pull at the weights; if the class rise isn’t a stopper he’s a strong place chance.
  • Isocrate – consistent and uncomplicated; should give you a run in a true pace.

Private tissue (my odds)

  • Jeudidee 11/4
  • Let’s Sail Away 7/2
  • King Of The Story 5/1
  • Isocrate 6/1
  • Just Chasing May 13/2
  • Midnight Jewel 8/1
  • Glajou 10/1
  • Zacony Rebel 12/1
  • Sleeping Satellite 16/1
  • Collingham 20/1
  • Byzantine Empire 25/1
  • Raindance Queen 66/1

Market watch advised for runners making their 2nd start.

Summary & Smart Play (pro punter view)

Plenty of pace on, which should suit the handy, efficient jumpers. Jeudidee brings the strongest, most transferable chase form at today’s trip/ground and can stalk the speed. Let’s Sail Away is the chief improver on only his second chase run. King Of The Story is the red-hot C&D horse with a feather weight, dangerous if this class rise is within range.

Smart Play

  • Win — Jeudidee (profile alignment + reliable 115 RPRs at 2m–2m4f on good; tactically versatile).
  • Each-way saver — King Of The Story (thriving C&D winner, 10-5, gets race set-up).
  • Danger — Let’s Sail Away (upside second-time chaser; prominent style ideal).
