Kilbeggan; Here is an analysis and assessment of the TimeWise top two rated horses in chronological order for all races at Kilbeggan on Friday.

·

3.57 Kilbeggan: WTW Willis Maiden Hurdle

  • Top Two TimeWise Rated Horses:
    1. Nelson Muntz (IRE) (Total: 205, Odds: 2.50)
    2. Backwithyourown (IRE) (Total: 195, Odds: 4.50)
  • Assessment:
    • Nelson Muntz (IRE) holds big claims based on his third-place finish in a hurdles race at Punchestown in October. While his subsequent Flat efforts were generally disappointing, an improved performance on the Flat at Gowran three days prior suggests he could be a big player if this race does not come too soon.
    • Backwithyourown (IRE) showed her best form from three maiden hurdle starts at Kilbeggan (2m3f, good to yielding) in July, where she finished fourth despite losing significant ground at the start. While her jumping was less fluent at Sligo last time, a hood is now fitted, making her a contender based on her penultimate run. The race is described as “pretty weak,” and other horses like Carry On Heidi and Heron’s Butler are also noted as having the form to feature.

4.32 Kilbeggan: Sean Daly Memorial Handicap Hurdle

  • Top Two TimeWise Rated Horses:
    1. Ballykinlar (IRE) (Total: 308, Odds: 3.25)
    2. Jerrari (IRE) (Total: 297, Odds: 7.50)
  • Assessment:
    • Ballykinlar (IRE) is described as a “revelation” for his trainer/owner, achieving three consecutive wins and shooting up the handicap. These wins include a comfortable victory at Kilbeggan (2m3f, good to yielding) and subsequent successes at Sligo (2m2f novice, 2m4f handicap). Despite being raised 24lb, he is believed to not have reached his peak yet and is attempting a fourth straight victory.
    • Jerrari (IRE) is the second-highest TimeWise rated horse in this race. However, no specific descriptive text or spotlight verdict is provided for this horse in the given sources.
    • Willie Mullins’ Zillow (TimeWise Total: 236) is considered a significant danger due to his decent maiden runs and the calmer nature of this race compared to his last handicap debut. Paul’s Dream (TimeWise Total: 247), a recent Wexford winner, is also not discounted.

5.07 Kilbeggan: Adare Manor Opportunity Maiden Hurdle

  • Top Two TimeWise Rated Horses:
    1. Minella Supreme (IRE) (Total: 234, Odds: 3.00)
    2. Chantilly Wings (IRE) (Total: 224, Odds: 4.50)
  • Assessment:
    • Minella Supreme (IRE) secured a win on his third bumper start at Downpatrick (2m3f, good) last month. On his hurdles debut, he fell at two out while leading, but the race had not yet fully started. He is considered one of the leading contenders, but the weight concession to others “blunts his appeal”.
    • Chantilly Wings (IRE) showed improvement to finish a close third in a 1m7f maiden at Roscommon. Although below that level when fourth at Perth last time, her penultimate run places her in the mix for this race.
    • The spotlight verdict, however, gives the nod to Dolce N’ Milana (TimeWise Total: 161) due to her quality pedigree and expected suitability for the longer trip, despite a modest debut. Itsallinthegenes (TimeWise Total: 196) is also highlighted as a strong contender, having outrun 50-1 odds on debut to finish third, and a repeat performance would put him “bang there”.

5.37 Kilbeggan: Sean Hughes Memorial Handicap Hurdle

  • Top Two TimeWise Rated Horses:
    1. Quarry Tiepy (IRE) (Total: 238, Odds: 5.00)
    2. Slim Marvel (FR) (Total: 228, Odds: 7.50)
  • Assessment:
    • Quarry Tiepy (IRE), a point winner, ran respectably in three maiden hurdles up to 2m5f. He could improve when raised in trip for his handicap debut and would be of major interest if well-supported in the market.
    • Slim Marvel (FR) won a 2m4f maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan in 2024 and has since placed several times, including over the same trip at Sligo. He ran well over nearly 3m previously and is one to consider. He was “noted running on” over 2m4f at Sligo last time and is tipped to “notch another course win up in trip”.
    • Other horses mentioned as potential dangers or expected to run well include Rising Dust (TimeWise Total: 179) off an attractive mark, and Blossom De Mai (TimeWise Total: 200) and Georginas Jet (TimeWise Total: 159).

6.07 Kilbeggan: Clarkes Bar Mullingar Beginners Chase

  • Top Two TimeWise Rated Horses:
    1. Full Of Life (FR) (Total: 270, Odds: 3.00)
    2. Ocean Of Mercy (IRE) (Total: 264, Odds: 7.00)
  • Assessment:
    • Full Of Life (FR) won her sole point by 8l (soft to heavy) and, after some good runs in defeat, comfortably won a Tramore maiden hurdle (2m5f, good). She is lightly raced and looks capable of improving upon switching to fences, giving her a good chance. She is considered “the one to beat” for a winning chase debut.
    • Ocean Of Mercy (IRE) was a runner-up in his first two hurdle starts in 2022. He made a reasonable return from a long break at Limerick and then duly obliged with a 13l winning margin at Ballinrobe (2m7f, good). He goes chasing now, and there is potential for more improvement. He is also noted as deserving respect.
    • While Ho My Lord (TimeWise Total: 238) is the highest-rated on paper, his form “doesn’t really set the heart racing”.

6.37 Kilbeggan: Kilsaran Handicap Chase

  • Top Two TimeWise Rated Horses:
    1. A Wave Of The Sea (IRE) (Total: 271, Odds: 5.00)
    2. Union Park (FR) (Total: 258, Odds: 15.00)
  • Assessment:
    • A Wave Of The Sea (IRE) is a Grade 1 hurdle winner and former smart chaser, though not at his previous top level. He won well over C&D two starts ago but was badly hampered in the early stages when beaten 16l back at Kilbeggan subsequently, yet he is still considered. He is expected to give Nas Na Riogh and Caesar Rock “most to do”.
    • Union Park (FR) is rated 123 over hurdles. His last win was on Dundalk AW in February 2022, and he showed fair AW form last winter. For his current yard, he was placed in a 2m5f Sligo handicap hurdle last month and “retains enthusiasm so can’t be ruled out”. He was also listed as an “Improver” in a previous race entry.
    • The spotlight verdict, however, selects Nas Na Riogh (TimeWise Total: 252) as the expected winner, citing his close third at Galway over a shorter trip and his hurdling wins over this distance. Caesar Rock (TimeWise Total: 248) is also mentioned as a strong contender.

7.07 Kilbeggan: End Of Season Celebration (Pro/Am) Flat Race

  • Top Two TimeWise Rated Horses:
    1. Wartime Leader (IRE) (Total: 300, Odds: 3.25)
    2. Luck Between Us (IRE) (Total: 255, Odds: 8.00)
  • Assessment:
    • Wartime Leader (IRE) was runner-up in a Naas bumper (2m) in January 2024 to a subsequent Grade 1-placed horse. He finished third on his comeback/stable debut at Galway over 2m2f and should have improved from that run, making him a big player.
    • Luck Between Us (IRE) showed promising form, being beaten 15l in a Roscommon maiden hurdle and then by only 1.25l in a Sligo maiden hurdle (both around 2m5f). This trip should be suitable for his bumper debut, and he should be involved.
    • Other contenders mentioned include Red Oak (TimeWise Total: 237), who showed ability and ran on well last time, and St Lawrence’s Well (TimeWise Total: 180), who won a point and ran a fine race on bumper debut, with this longer trip expected to suit.
